Ivo den Bieman
BBC Scotland quite rightly accused of biased election "coverage" The BBC's coverage of the election has been downright abysmal and I hope that there is a full investigation into this rather embarrassing pro-Labour "survey" released and then hastily heavily altered by them, yesterday
xbl
BBC Scotland quite rightly accused of biased election "coverage" The BBC's coverage of the election has been downright abysmal and I hope that there is a full investigation into this rather embarrassing pro-Labour "survey" released and then hastily heavily altered by them, yesterday Their newsnicht coverage has been okay, but their web coverage has been particularly terrible, and completely shown up by the stv page. I'm glad they're being called out on this, their online coverage is of Daily Record type levels.
xbl
Saw this on the same site: http://www.newsnetscotland.com/scottish-politics/2050-independence-and-greater-powers-for-holyrood-neck-and-neck-in-opinion-poll.html An opinion poll published in yesterday's Sunday Times shows public support for independence and support for greater powers for Holyrood to be neck and neck. The Panelbase poll shows that once the 12% don't knows are excluded, 39% of respondents expressed a preference for independence, while 41% preferred greater powers for the Scottish Parliament as proposed by the Calman Commission. The 2% difference between the two positions is within the normal margin of error for opinion polls. Only 20% of those polled support the status quo and do not wish to see more powers for Holyrood. Scary Bear
The only leaflet I've had so far was from the SNP. I remember the days when they all hand-delivered a leaflet.

The Master
I'm still not sure what to think about Tavish Scott and the Lib Dems in general. I really need to hear Gillian Duffy's opinion before I decide either way.

All this "on the doorstep" stuff from parties is a lie. I would love the chance to speak to the odd candidate, but no sign.Candidates would rather do set piece media pish than come anywhere near a ordinary voter. Law Stud
This campaign has been fucking boring so far. Yep. The only entertaining piece over the last week was XBLs scramble to claim that the SNPs budget incompetence didn't matter. It looks like it was just as well Labour, the Tories and the Lib Dems kept voting it down

Law Stud
"2007 Manifesto Committment shelved due to economic conditions, minority government, and lack of adequate powers". Its not the catchiest of headlines! Did you forget this XBL?
xbl
Did you forget this XBL? I didn't see what was to defend, I didn't realise we were fighting the 2007 election! But then, I'm not a socialist labour supporter...
Law Stud
I didn't see what was to defend, I didn't realise we were fighting the 2007 election! But then, I'm not a socialist labour supporter... The only reason the SNP didn't impose local income tax on us all in 2008 was because they failed to get the support of any of the opposition parties. Alex Salmond went on to slate all this opposition leaders and used their blocking of his budgets as his main defence on why the SNP weren't able to meet their pledges in their last manifesto. It now transpires that had the SNP managed to get the support particularly of the Lib Dems, the Scottish economy would have been looking at a massive fiscal black hole and probably a need for a Westminster bail out. Instead of castigating the opposition parties Alex Salmond should be personally thanking them for stopping him from making the biggest mistake of his political career. Thank f**k the Tories, the Lib Dems and even Socialist Labour were more capable when it came to do the sums than the SNP. And your ludicrous attempt to bury it as old news is as entertaining as watching VikingTon struggle with the basics of currency trading.
xbl
If I recall rightly, he also claimed that Scotland didn't have the powers needed. Which the evidence seems to back up. But whatever, its still old news.
