ginge123
I ended up getting that Marvel DCU. Well worth it. I've read the first two Ed Brubaker penned Daredevil arcs, a the first Spider-man and I've started with The Phoenix Saga. The 30% off voucher didn't work but I got one that got me 20% off (either "Marvel20" or "20Marvel", I can't remember which). I reckon I've already had my moneys worth from it. The only issue is that it isn't compatible with any mobile devices.

forehead7
I dunno, I heard the list on a podcast and googled it. Am I the only one who thinks Superman is shit? Red Son is a cracking read but that's because I quite enjoy Russian politics and the whole communist thing.

He's the template for a Superhero really,. that's why it;s difficult for him to have strong stories - people are afraid to push the character.

I think he is a lovable rouge, but then I did grow up watching Smallville, which left a little bit of bias brought into it, even it's finale was something of an anti-climax.

I'd say that that's more Wolverine, how much of a rogue is Superman? Is he not like Captain America, ie always the good guy? I'd say Batman is more of a lovable rogue.
the jambo-rocker
I'd say that that's more Wolverine, how much of a rogue is Superman? Is he not like Captain America, ie always the good guy? I'd say Batman is more of a lovable rogue. I'd say he had his trials and his choice between fighting his dark side in his younger years, just like most others did, his was losing his father and struggling to proper let it go before he could become the perfect hero, and then deal with the pressure of being the example and infaliable to the rest of the world. Wolverine can just about bend some rules, and be a bit of a badass, as long as he gets the job done. Batman, the whole 'whatever Gotham needs him to be', and... Capt. America? A bit of a holier than thou complex about him if you ask me. My favourite lovable rogue as to be The Punisher though. The only one I truly feel lost everything that matter to him and the justice system that he served failing him in the process, and doesn't f**k about in handing his own kind of justice.
ginge123
I don't really like Superman. It's just too "light" for my liking. My top 10 would probably be Batman Wolverine Daredevil Zack Overkill Captain America Iron Man Spider-man Hulk Rorschach Green Lantern (Hal Jordon version) Spider-man is so low because I've only ever dipped into it now and again. There are probably more "secondary" characters that I like more than the main guys, i.e. I like The Thing from FF more than for instance Reed Richards. This will most likely get shat on by those that have read it, as it has a few other places, but 'd have an honourable mention to Batwing as being one of the best "new" characters out there. forehead7
The narration is in Japanese but it's mostly in English, but here's a new trailer that shows a lot of new footage for the Avengers. Trailer Oh my god at about 1 minute 40 seconds, (the water scene), gave me chills it's so awesome.

forehead7
Just watching Spider-man, I didn't realise that the Green Goblin's mask has an open mouth and you can actually see him speaking and his eye slits open during it. I wouldn't say my mind was blown but I'm definitely a bit stunned I've never noticed it before.
forehead7
Watching Spider-man 2 and planning on 3, makes me realise how much I love Spider-man and the films are solid, apart from the emo stage and Sandman in 3. Anyway, I was reading the wiki article on three and saw this: In 2007, Spider-Man 4 entered development, with Raimi attached to direct and Maguire, Dunst and other cast members set to reprise their roles. Both a fourth and a fifth movie were planned and at one time the idea of shooting the two sequels concurrently was under consideration. However, Raimi stated in March 2009 that only the fourth film was in development at that time and that if there were fifth and sixth films, those two films would actually be a continuation of each other.[102][103][104][105] James Vanderbilt was hired in October 2007 to pen the screenplay after initial reports in early 2007 that Sony Pictures was in contact with David Koepp, who wrote the firstSpider-Man film.[106][107] The script was subsequently rewritten by Pulitzer-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire and rewritten again by Gary Ross in October 2009.[108] Sony also engaged Vanderbilt to write scripts for Spider-Man 5 and Spider-Man 6.[107]In 2007, Raimi expressed interest in portraying the transformation of Dr. Curt Connors into his villainous alter-ego, the Lizard; the character's actor Dylan Baker and producer Grant Curtis were also enthusiastic about the idea.[109][110][111] It was reported in December 2009 that John Malkovich was in negotiations to play Vulture and that Anne Hathaway would play Felicia Hardy, though she would not have transformed into the Black Cat as in the comics. Instead, Raimi's Felicia was expected to become a brand-new superpowered figure called the Vulturess.[112] Sony Pictures announced in January 2010 that plans for Spider-Man 4 had been cancelled due to Raimi's withdrawal from the project. Raimi reportedly ended his participation due to his doubt that he could meet the planned May 6, 2011 release date while at the same time upholding the film creatively. Raimi purportedly went through four iterations of the script with different screenwriters and still "hated it". Oh Nolan, stealing ideas John Malkovich as Vulture would be ace though! edit: the guy who plays Jin in Lost is one of the lab assistants for Doctor Octavius! double edit: the guy who serves Peter and May at the bank plays Jeff Winger in Community!
