BossHogg
"Queen of the South won Scotland’s third tier and the Ramsdens Cup last year with a £650,000 football budget. With ten times the outlay this season, Rangers could not even do that double. McCoist was asked if he felt he played a part in the unsustainable player-wage windfall at the club because he set out the need for the nine players that were signed last summer."
John..You're Immortal
In fairness to the wee cheeky chappie, fans in general and the media in particular, do tend to assume that because a sportsman has a level of sporting prowess he must also therefore have an inate level of intellectual ability. Some of the hilarious rantings, twisted logic and hideous tautology of Keegan,Hoddle, McLaren and Ally of course show the real truth. However, has there ever been a manager who has gotten away with such a level of duplicity, incompetence and deceit as McCoist? He must go to bed every night thinking 'The wheels must be coming off, I'm definitely gonna get sussed tomorrow' Yet every day the Gers fans hold him up as their anchor against the 'bad people'. Ally doesn't do walking away; why would he walk out of a golden gig, paid for by the most gullible, naiive and blinkered support surely in the history of football? thenolly
http://m.scotsman.com/sport/football/latest/ally-mccoist-accountability-gap-at-rangers-1-3392216 Is McCoist on mind bending drugs!!! He is right its not the players fault, they signed the contracts that HE offered them, HE knows how much his wage bill is, what HIS bonus bill is and what HIS own wage is. HE knows of the £20 million he has spent in 18 months, which will probably be over £30 million come June when bonuses etc are paid for this year. Not counting for the pre IPO (£13.3 million) and IPO (£22.2 million) shares, he has spent £19.8 million of the £35.2 million income, that's a 56% spend to income not the 27% he mentions, when we take the spend over the full 2 years (Probably exceeding £30 million) with no additional income (Tickets, sponsorship, telly is already paid) that will be 85% of the "Normal" income spent on wages.
cyderspaceman
http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/scotland/27211821 More on the 'quandary'. Should they buy or should they not? If they buy there will be trouble. If they don't, it may be double. Berrz you've got to let us know, will ye buy or will ye no' ?
phed
1. In what circumstances may a company apply to be struck off the register? A company may apply to the registrar to be struck off the register and dissolved. The company can do this if it is no longer needed. For example, the directors may wish to retire and there is no one to take over from them; or it is a subsidiary whose name is no longer needed; or it was set up to exploit an idea that turned out not to be feasible. Some companies who are dormant or non trading choose to apply for strike off. If you have decided that you no longer want to retain your company and wish to have it struck off, the registrar will not normally pursue any outstanding late filing penalties unless you restore the company to the register at a later stage. http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/gbhtml/gp4.shtml#ch1

thenolly
McCoist has a few faults but are you right in the head? You cannot blame him for that ... He will have approached a player, they would have told the club what they want, Ally would have been informed and said "Go fur it"
