Phil Tweeting that it is a Friend of Ashley

Phil MacGiollaBhain‏@Pmacgiollabhain 25m25 minutes ago

I would not be surprised if the buyer of these RIFC shares was...ahem...close to the thinking of Big Mike.

The man cannot help himself.

Aaaaaannndd...

There's another one.

They do seem to have their finger on the pulse of a blog that they claim to ignore....

If true then they are now the largest shareholders in Rangers, if you want control then you have to stump up the cash, it really is the only way.

Somers days are numbered, he also revealed in those leaked emails that the 'watertight contracts' are not really that watertight after all.

Easedale(James Andrew) is listed on Bloomberg as holding 21.34% of the shares. They would be second behind him, even taking into account that Taylor already held around 3% of the shares.

Given that the other Easedale owns around 5%, and they have the proxy for Green, Margarita and Blue Pitch(14% between them), the Easedales still pretty much have the casting vote on just about any decision that is made.

So they now have £2.6m less in cash available?

Gives them more scope fore participation in the next rights issue, as well as more weight in negotiating any deal they want to do.

Next move from Ashley will be interesting.

So if they had £6.5 million to "invest" in the next share offering, they now only have £3.9million. So where does the other £4.1 million come from to keep the club running? Or did they always have more than £6.5million?

January fire sale still looks on.

Sorry Norman but you're wrong again, it's fairly easy to predict where most if densboys stuff comes from. You seem upset today, is something worrying you?

He also tweeted at the same time saying that if it was the 3 bears then they've spent some of the money they had. Covering all eventualities there.

I'd be wary of taking anything that he says as granted, we've no idea how much funds these guys have.

Ashley has loads of mates and joint investors who would come in on this. Philip Green that he has teamed up with before to invest in small companies for example has his business in his wife's name. The name of the shareholder is irrelevant - it is who is behind that name.

So let's look out for names of people you have never heard of with addresses in Monaco. OK we have been here before, but this time will be people who actually have money.

You know, there is a retweet button on Phil`s twitter, you do not have to follow his twitter account (not blog) to get wind of his f**k ups.

But you do have to have a strong set of principles - or a neck of pure brass - to slag him off over a period of years then start quoting him as a source...

The difference being you're grabbing at an assumption for Dhen's source. You're actually bringing the blogger into it.

Obsessed?

Those are not actually Eadales shares, he just has proxy voting rights over them.

Laxey was the largest individual shareholder.

Bloomberg is showing James Easedale as the largest holder with 17.387m shares.

The others I mentioned are all listed separately as holders.

If and it's a fairly big if, this new group of fans can get a controlling stake in the club then hopefully we'll see the fans filling Ibrox again and the start of some sensible arrangements for running things on and off the park.

Another season in the 2nd tier, hopefully hibs go up with hearts and we are in good shape to challenge next season.

Still a very long way, and a lot of money, from having a controlling stake in the company. It's a start and has to be a positive for Rangers fans, but there is a very long way to go.

Easdale does not own those shares.

Do you have an up to date shareholder list, and if so, where are you getting it? Bloomberg, from what I can see, is accurate as of the start of Q3 this year, which admittedly would be just before the open offer.

Nirman give it a rest mate, there's plenty to talk about today so no need for your silly squabbling.

OK, then, here's an open question for discussion...

Does anyone, anyone at all, believe that this shambles will ever achieve the status of the rangers of old? By which I mean a successful if not dominant team domestically who regularly compete - and I mean compete - in European football?

Personally, I can't see it. When celtic see the group stages of the CL as a successful season, and have to rely on transfer dealings to keep replacing any player who shows promise, whither Newco rangers? Already their prized asset is off to bigger things in the English second tier. The worst team in England top tier gets more TV money than the entire SPFL, and Scottish football's status continues to slide. Meanwhile, there's an infrastructure to maintain at Ibrox that requires a massive amount of income to be diverted from the footballing operation - which is where success is measured.

Feel free to put up a rational rebuttal, but personally I reckon, no matter who holds what shares, they'll never be more than a Diddy team like the rest, just waiting for celtic to regress and join us. Those big stadia are what's going to kill the Sisters for good - like faded aristocrats living in one room of their stately home while seeking the silver to pay taxes.

It'll be interesting to see how Ashley reacts to this if he deems it as a hostile move towards his investment and influence

Not much he can do as the SFA have blocked him, unless he sells Newcastle.

He'll just have to make do with having the retail rights and the image rights (?)
