Walking Down The Halbeath Road

I don't doubt it for a second btw, I'm just struggling to see what the f**k Masteron is playing at.

How on earth were we struggling for money back at the beginning of the season? Where on earth has this parachute payment went?

HELLO MCFLY!!

Gavin's companies are nearly £40M in debt.

We can't pay a 4K electricity bill, has the penny not dropped yet?

I'd suggest ignoring the advice of a certain Mr Paul Goodwin is a catastrophic error.

Indeed. It's extremely arrogant of people to ignore the advice of a guy who has been through it many times before, who knows what works and what doesn't and how to best go about things. These people who think they know better, despite having zero experience, should really be having a good look at themselves.

It's wearisome (I'll borrow your word Stanza) to continually have to read the paul goodwin advice posts. This man has nothing whatsoever (as far as Im aware) to do with our club, Im not doubting for one moment he knows what he is talking about, but he is not a pars fan either. Should people not have wanted to listen to his advice nor heed it nor even consider that he was not talking sense then that was also their choice.

Fucking hell. Staggering.

The fact that he's not a Pars fan is the very reason we should be listening to him. He has no emotional attachment to the club so he's in a position to make rational judgements.

It's symptomatic of the arrogance of some of our support that not only do they choose to ignore the advice of Paul Goodwin but then defend it by saying "but he's not a Pars fan".

If our club does end up dying then the administration of dafc.net and many dot net users will have blood on their hands.

I find it baffling despite football clubs being run by people who have had a lot of success in the business world. It seems basic business principles go out of the window when it comes to running a football club. Maybe they're not risking their own money;maybe they know there is a safety net if things don't work out; maybe football isn't a business that awards people who are highly optimisic, or maybe its just an ego trip for them.

I suppose it's a combination of those things, but one obvious difference is that in business you are (generally) primarily pursuing profit, whereas in football you are ultimately pursuing 'glory'/success.

Infact very often you're using some of your personal business profit to try to make it easier to achieve that glory. And when you're a fan, pursuing glory, maybe you take chances you otherwise wouldn't.

Furthermore, in football the pay-offs of increased spending are often very limited. Every club in SFL1 could've increased its budget by £1M this season, but still 1 goes up and 1 or 2 goes down.

And of course - as we see often - club's very often finish well above or below their equivalent place in the 'money ranking'.

Money owed from ticket sales from the game at TFS earlier this season, apparently.

Not that it matters now really as they're not seeing the money anyway, but Falkirk will take around 1,000 on Boxing Day. Maybe slightly less, which means that the money Falkirk take in for this fixture won't cover what we're owed.

It will as I understand not all is outstanding. Back of the fag packet number, but I understand around 500 Falkirk fans cover it, the rest is an up for us.
