I imagine a cross between that and HBO finding that it wasn't the hit they expected it to be have decided to take the hit and finish it now. I imagine with that, Boardwalk Empire, and True Blood all going this year and cutting the $40 million a year budget that they were apparently going to throw at American Gods, with the amount they already invest in Game of Thrones, they seem to be putting a lot of their eggs in some hopefully more lucrative baskets.
