Plugged it all in, switched it on and it's running really slowly and seems to be infested with all sorts of sh'te. What's the easiest way to sort it ? What's the easiest way to sort it ? 518852[/snapback] I would recommended installing some virus software on it (AVG is free and OK - http://www.grisoft.com/doc/1), and doing a full scan. Also, the Microsoft spyware tool is quite good. Again, do a full scan. http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/s...re/default.mspx. Then also delete all internet files, cookies, etc., uninstall any apps that are not wanted. Then run a disk defrag to optimise the hard drive. Then finally, check it out with PC pitstop.... http://www.pcpitstop.com/. It might spot something that was missed. Also make sure the FindFast indexer is not running at Startup. RiG Posted May 27, 2005 Share Posted May 27, 2005 I use the following to keep my PC (at home) running smoothly AVG - free Avast Anti Virus (Scans web pages while you browse as well) - free CW Shredder - free Spybot - free Norton - Not free Ad Aware - free (I like this one) There is one other I can't mind but most are quick to download and easy to set up.
