  1. That wasn't good for the old ticker, that's for sure.
  2. Manila FSC currently in Auckland and ready for an early start… hoping to get on my flight to Singapore with a league title in the bag
  3. Scrap that, just watched the highlights again, he wanders across the box after tracking the runner and doesn’t get out.
  4. I remember thinking at the time that surely the guy is a mile offside before I saw the replay that showed Tait in no mans land. Had he been down injured or something as it was really fucking weird?
  5. I’ve just purchased these bad boys for running.
  6. Yeah I went to school with more than a few of those guys, man I’m feeling old
  7. certainly didn’t feel like it at the time, it’s going to be a long day in the office.
  8. Behave yourself That almost made being awake at 0345 this morning worthwhile.
  9. We missed 3/4 chances in the first 3/4 minutes to be honest and that's when you think it might be one of those days.
  10. I was about to type exactly the same thing
  11. Yet we could have easily been 2 up before Edinburgh scored, weird game.
  12. Oh yeah, forgot about that one, the two key ones that were spotted.. I hate criticising referees, especially after watching an interview with Ben O’Keefe that was really hard to listen to, these guys are decent humans trying to do a job and the rules really don’t help them at times.
  13. I was trying to be kind, a tale of two high tackles officiated differently in my mind.
  14. Look I know I’m biased so I’ll say that now. That was pretty fucking average officiating wasn’t it?
  15. Apart from an interview I just watched where Chieka was being his usual torn faced p***k of a self, what were the gripes with Angus Gardner?
  16. I fucking love Will Jordan.
  17. Yeah - the only question from the AB's was whether Telea came straight back in for Fainga'anuku... there was never going to be too many other changes. Bit of a luxury being able to swap Whitelock for Retallick, two of the best locks ever.
  18. Angus Gardner for All Blacks V Argentina and Ben O'Keefe for Springboks V England. Even the Southern Hemisphere referees are taking over.
  19. That rings a bell now you mention it.. Couple of photos for you. Auckland Bowling Club - the oldest in the southern hemisphere and a glorious setting. Royal Oak Bowling Club in Auckland, fully enclosed so can play all year round.
  20. Get it right up ye Johnny Sexton you utter arse! An outrageous performance from a man who gets a really hard time from people who don't understand the role he's there to play. And two Aucklanders at that, neither of them deemed good enough for NZ rugby and obviously James Lowe as well. Get it right up ye Johnny Sexton you utter arse! Get it right up ye Johnny Sexton you utter arse!
  21. I don't venture into this forum too often so I missed this thread. First picked up a bowl in 1989 as a kid and played for about 10 years up to and including regional U25... gave it up at about 20 when there was much more fun things to do with my life... Moved to New Zealand in 2011 and decided to get back into it as a way of getting to know people, within a year I'd skipped the team that won the Canterbury Open Fours beating a team skipped by none other than Gary Lawson (google him) and was picked for the Canterbury rep squad a few years in a row. Then the kids came along starting in 2014 and my bowls career went in the opposite direction, very much play for fun at the moment and to get out of the house, managed to pick up the odd Club title but certainly not playing at the level I was. Still only in my early 40s so plenty of time to get back into it. I'll see if I can dig out some photos later.
  22. Thanks, I had a quick google at the time but couldn’t quite find the right article.. I wouldn’t have thought 6% to 9% is a big enough difference to drive change, I deal in risk management for a living and that wouldn’t make us change anything.
  23. 5 times more likely means nothing without some underlying context, does it take the risk from 0.01% to 0.05% or does it take it from 5% to 25%? Big difference between those two scenarios.
