We'll only know that in the fullness of time. It doesnt help that we have 5 or 6 clubs now looking for managers. Clearly those who would be looking at Dundee United or Partick Thistle wouldn't be looking at us. If either of those sides look to take a chance on a manager already in a job then the knock on effect could see ourselves, Airdrie and one or two others looking for a new appointment. Then there's the issue of finances. Despite popular belief on here, you can't lose £150k from the budget, fund a squad that many thought would be amongst the best in the division and put money away for a rainy day. There are financial consequences for absolutely every decision that the board makes. We'll find out at the end of the season whether the decision to sack Aitken now was the correct one or not. Things don't happen in isolation and we need to hope that club finances can pay Aitken's severance, fund an appropriate replacement and continue to meet the club's existing financial obligations. The only measure of success this season is keeping us up. John Steele is clearly not a fool, this decision will not have put the club in any danger. What we do know is Aitken's tenure had become unattainable and it was the right thing to do. Bundle of joy or not, it's the truth. Relegation has cost the club a 6 figure sum. The new board has had to deal with some significant and threatening problems inherited from the old board. This is just another issue that the board now has to deal with. I think it's time folk stopped living in some kind of fantasy world and faced up to the reality at the club right now. Decisions have consequences and we need to hope that the consequences of this decision are, when the club's position as a whole is factored in, more positive than negative. We'll find out in the fullness of time.

It doesn't change the fact sacking Aitken was an important decision that had to be made.It still begs the question though, if we are worse off than other teams in this league why do we operate with a bigger playing budget than them?

We'll find out in the fullness of time. I don't think anyone is living in a fantasy world, other than the few who didn't think Aitken needed to go. We assembled a fantastic squad for this level, which is pretty good going for a club supposedly on its knees and a baw hair away from imminent bankruptcy. 8 points from the first quarter was simply unacceptable, regardless of the injury situation. Besides, what's said on here has literally zero impact on what happens in the boardroom, so I'm not sure why you're getting your knickers in such a twist about it. If you have such concerns about the running of the club, go and express them directly to the Chairman. Guest
Aah, the weird and wonderful world of football. As I recently posted on an Ayr thread, it wasn't so long ago that many in and around Somerset wanted McCall sacked and Stevie Aitken was seen as the messiah who was top of our wanted list, due to his excellent man management skills and tactical genius that kept part time Dumbarton up in the Championship and punching well above their weight as many saw it. What happened ? As I say, it's the fickle world of the football fan as you're only as good as your last couple of results nowadays. Who knows, maybe McCall will walk out on us and go to Thistle, we'll get Aitken and you'll end up with Alan Archibald !!!
FifeSons
The replacement will be very, very interesting. We’ve given ourselves some breathing space with the international break, which was very sensible. A few mentions of Jim McIntyre, which IMO are totally unrealistic. Ian Murray or Jim Duffy would be the front runners for me, but we shall see.
FifeSons
Also, some lad on FB just said Loy has been struggling with a back problem, which is why he wasn’t included on Saturday (still find it odd he wasn’t listed as a doubt on the OS, but there you go). If, and it’s a big if, the new manager can get the Rory Loy we’d hoped for, it’ll go a long way towards rescuing our season.
