SramTon
Maybe worth mentioning that this is also FtP on PS4 and has cross-play with PC (ie if you have a PS4 and your mate has a PC, you can still play together in the same battle). Cross-play isn't perfect (non-mouse users are at a big disadvantage when it comes to aiming) but it's one of the very few games that allow you to do this. JamieT1314
Didnt even think the above was possible, pretty cool.
SramTon
Didnt even think the above was possible, pretty cool. There's been a handful of games since Xbox 360/PS3 that have allowed it. Portal 2 on PS3/PC is probably the best example. The reasons it's not done more often are partly political (with Sony & MS not historically encouraging it), partly controller balancing issues (in particular mouse-keyboard v pad/controller), partly due to synchronising updates (Sony & MS have vetting procedures which limit and delay updates, whereas PC updates can be done almost on the fly), but I suspect mainly commercial (the existence of cross-play on games doesn't directly resulted in significantly more sales). War Thunder is probably a poor choice of game for it: aside from the lack of accuracy aiming when using a controller compared to a mouse, it is also more awkward to look around and behind you (which is quite important in a dog-fight). Still, it works. MS is pushing cross-play between XB One and Windows 10 devices, so hopefully we'll see more (and better use of the feature) soon.
