Over 4000 at that march according to the Scottish News.

Aye BBC did quite a long piece on it & finished off with something like "one of the biggest crowds at a march this summer"

As a comparison, here's a note of police estimates of numbers at recent marches:

Cowdenbeath Orange Order - 4,000  marchers

Stirling AUOB - 10,000 marchers

Dumfries AOUB - 15,000 marchers

Glasgow AOUB - 35,000 marchers

Yeah? ...no shit.

Anyway, still doesn't detract from the fact there are a load of good people there who didn't want this shit in their town today. Which was my only point really.

Did any of these "good people" try and get a stop put to this march?

Protest to the police  citing the likely possibility of public order offences.

The councils and police have consider this all over the country. They have to balance that against freedom of expression laws. If those get changed it will impact on more than just them.

The colours are green, the colours are blue,
When you’re born in this world they give the colours to you,
You don’t have a choice.
In a city that’s shaped by the scars of the past,
Our colours are taken, nailed to the mast,
To the songs of the tribes.
Some blame it on religion, some call it “The Holy War”
A subdivision to cut a city to the core,
Another derby day, another casualty,
And all the papers say “it’s just another Saturday.”
One hundred years of hate and violence,
Has brought you home to deathly silence,
Your son’s not coming home.
History revisited by drunk teenage boys,
Too young to remember it, but old enough to die,
And the papers say “wrong place, wrong time.”
This is our city and these are our colours.
Bang the drum, bang the drum, you’re up to your knees in hate
Who taught you to hate?
In a city that’s shaped by the scars of the past,
Our colours are taken, nailed to the mast,
To the songs of the tribes.
The colours are green, the colours are blue,
When you’re born in this world they give the colours to you,
You don’t have a choice

That DUP hag is visiting Cowdenbeath today and they're shutting the High Street for a huge Orange love in.

Fucking cretins.

It was more than the High Street which would have been closed it went in a circle so most folk wouldn't haven't been able to get in or out for the town in their cars apart from ones who live on the extreme edges.

I went away early over to Edinburgh for our game with Civil Service Strollers so I missed it all.

Quite right too.

Glasgow alone has more Orange Walks in a year than both Belfast and Londonderry combined.

Sad reflection on Scottish society in my opinion.

Not interested in any sort of walk, rally or a lot of opinions but I fully support the right to express them. If you don't believe in free speech, right to protest, march, whatever then unfortunately you need to follow up with action and log off right now.

There is no such thing as absolute free speech.  That is why hate speech is outlawed.  I’m not sure what Cowdenbeath has to do with Battle of the Boyne.

One minute the football team turns up wearing black socks with red tops and the next the town is infested with fuckwits, what next?

I reckon Cowdenbeath is always infested with fuckwits.  There’s just more of them this weekend.
