Wrong thread for this, but I heard that skate was nailed to a mast on long sea voyages to relieve tensions below deck, and specifically discourage buggery amongst the midshipmen, many of whom came from good families. I presume they were de-fanged first, the fish I mean.

For the fifth year in a row, Montrose harbour has been voted Harbour of the Year (Harbourmasters of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
They beat Arbroath into second place (again) causing much seeth between the feuding Angus hellholes.

The jaws theme tune is adapted from underwater recordings of a sharks tail moving left to right as it travels through the water. As the shark goes into attack mode, the tail swipes faster which lead to john williams choice of tune.
