thepundit
Depending on the situation I'd probably clarify it and if I'm asked I call myself Scottish. Ironically I've got a bit of an English accent It probably depends on how specific you thought you needed to be at that particular moment, rather than snarling "I'm Scottish not British!".. I'm English and British, it really doesn't matter. Just depends who asks the question. But I'm hardly going turn round to someone in Aberdeen for example when they ask where I'm from and say "Britain" as it doesn't really answer their question, ha! I have a bit of a Scottish accent mixed in with my Northern accent these days. Very British indeed

The people of Liverpool will can sleep soundly in their shelters tonight.
Taza
I'm not sure how Scottish guys in the forces would realistically be able to cast a vote but it is an anomaly. As for the Scottish/British thing, I call and consider myself Scottish, even though I'm a NAW. Don't really understand the relevance of this issue. I'm a proud Scot and a defo yes voter but accept that denying I'm British is stupid, as everyone born in The British Isles is British, just as Norwegians and Swedes are Scandinavian.

thepundit
UK Labour have really had momentum (real momentum) this past month or so. Ever since Ed Miliband ate that sandwich, funnily enough.

DeeTillEhDeh
What has been the game changer involved in this? Israel-Palestine apparently. Baroness Warsi's resignation.

Blaven
Can't see anything other than a Labour victory in 2015 Don't get it. Don't the Tories know what their doing to make sure they get re elected?
jmothecat
Don't get it. Don't the Tories know what their doing to make sure they get re elected? The Tories haven't won a majority since 1992. And that won't change next year.
DeeTillEhDeh
You are taking the piss yes?No.http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2014/aug/11/labour-soar-past-tories-seven-point-lead-icm-poll?CMP=twt_fd "The poll, carried out between Friday and Sunday, followed a difficult week for the prime minister after Warsi resigned from the government after criticising the prime minister for his "morally indefensible" decision not to criticise Israel for disproportionate action in Gaza. On Wednesday Boris Johnson signalled his intention to return to parliament at next year's general election, placing him in a strong position to replace the prime minister. The London mayor is the dominant figure in the race to succeed Cameron, according to the poll which shows nearly a third of voters (29%) believe he should be the next Tory leader." Maybe perception over divisions on the Tory leadership. Also there is a significant Muslim vote and it can't be particularly enamoured by Cameron at this time. ayrmad
No seriously. I must have missed it. What has changed to make that swing? I don't know but I'm not sure whether a NO vote or a Labour majority will fill me with more disgust at the electorate, thankfully polls don't make prizes.
