The gentleman had a stoma which had stopped working due to a mechanical failure, the reason being his partner was shagging the stoma. As I stood there with my finger inside his intestines dropping in suppositories to get it working I decided to leave surgical hdu and move on elsewhere. It was a real nadir in my time in Surgical, right down there with the time a rectal drain fell out and smacked me in the face. Marvellous times.
