The New Stadiums Thread

What's the capacity on that German stadium. They seem to do enclosed 10,000 seater stadiums so much better than us. Looks close to the pitch and would be cracking full. Compare that to new St. Mirren stadium, Falkirk or Hamilton.

Just over 15,000. Hardly comparable with those three grounds.

Let's be honest, not one single person will support Liverpool because they claim to be the people's club

Not sure why Liverpool get so many people wound up tbh

Eta: Rab gonna reply to my PM by the way

The term 'people's club' is an absolute misnomer. Everton and until recently City claimed to be the 'true' representation of their cities, based entirely on the fact that their immediate doorstep rivals boasted worldwide fan clubs. What rubs a great number of good people the wrong way, every single time they open their insufferable traps, is the myths and grief-addicted delusions they impose on the planet. Other than that, they're sound as f**k.

Did Liverpool not buy up a lot of the properties and leave them to rot though, as a result dragging the value of those inhabited properties down with them as the area degenerated?

They forced people out with CPOs, often paying way less than they were actually worth and making it impossible for people to but similar property elsewhere.

Liverpool are a particularly horrible football club but as someone else has said, plenty of idiots will fall for all their PR nonsense.

Apologies replied Lichtie.

You are definitely right about the people's club that has never been attached to Liverpool.

It seems that Bristol City may have put some restricted view seats in their refurbishment of the stand you used to see on the TV opposite the now demolished main stand

You would have thought that when making the changes (They took out the front section and opened up the stand which you used to have to enter from the ends) they would have noticed this.

In time the views will be less restricted as the pitch is moving over a few meters with the new main stand set back a bit so the restrictions may not be too bad next season.

The no expense spared extension to the Sir Elton John stand at Watford. (It looks like something that Hamilton would do. ;))

its being pointed out that not only does the roof not come out that far, the profile is not that great and being so low down with people having to walk along the front to get to their seats those in these rows are not going to have a great view.

PROPERTY developer Eddie Mitchell is set to put his revised plans for a Sandbanks sports stadium on public display.

His proposals for the 2,000-seat Sandbanks Sand Sports Stadium will be available for public view, for one day only, before being officially submitted to Borough of Poole planners later this summer.

Mr Mitchell says the stadium would also contain 40 ground floor beach huts, replacing the current Sandbanks pavilion beach huts, as well as 20 exclusive glass boxes on the first floor.

He hopes England's beach soccer sides, which already train in Poole, will be able to make the stadium their permanent home.

The complex will also boast four luxury three-bed beach studios and 16 twin bed mini-studios, for weekend and overnight stays.

The Chelsea one looks a bit different. Will be interesting to see how it looks when it's finished.

Aye, the artist's impression is the one for the potential sponsors and the fans to "wow" themselves over. When it comes to actually building it, surprisingly it costs 25% more than the money they have, and the "local brick" becomes concrete and the overall spec dips outrageously. For reference, see every major building contract since the pyramids.

  • 3 weeks later...

Not primarily a football stadium but I took in the Liverpool v Chelsea U21s game at Langtree Park, St Helens Rugby Lesgue last Sunday morning on the way to Stoke.

Very nice ground. Seating down both sides and terracing behind the goals.
