HibeeJibee
East Kilbride are building their proposed end grandstand at K-Park over the closed season, raising seating capacity to 770 (IIRC), plus overall capacity to around 1,000... They've also submitted detailed planning permission for their new stadium: Original plan was a 4-sided ground with corners filled-in holding about 4,000 seats. New plan is 2-stage process, beginning with a 2,430-seat Main Stand (slightly larger than those at East Fife and Dumbarton), to be followed by a pair of 780-seat end stands for a final capacity of 3,990. Appears the far side will be open as at Falkirk Stadium. Facility would open as a 3G training pitch early in 2018. Main Stand complete by close of 2018. First end complete by close of 2019. Other end complete by close of 2020. Edited June 14, 2017 by HibeeJibee

No idea Sarge never seem to see LL crowds anywhere apart from Whitehill who publish them in their programme, Edinburgh City used to do the same. Maybe its just mainly for their League Cup and Challenge Cup ties and of course a possible play off.

Maybe if they sign more players, they'll need more room for the mammies and daddies.
gav-ffc
Are they moving from their current site for the new stadium?Knowing my poor knowledge of EK the current park is well away from anything bar the country park and a carvary.
HibeeJibee
It's a new stadium somewhere else in town. They've had various sell-outs at K-Park... Whitehill in LL (groundhop game), Scottish Cup ties on their run to playing Celtic, playoffs this season, friendlies v Clyde and Celtic XI. Even if the new stadium is ready for halfway through 2018-19, they will be able to make use of the new grandstand at K-Park in the SPFL League Cup where they've Lanarkshire derbies v Albion Rovers and Hamilton; potentially in the SPFL Challenge Cup plus Scottish Cup depending on the draws; in playoffs if they win league again; in the cups again in 2018-19; plus in SPFL2 in first half of 2018-19 if they get promoted and that could be longer if the new stadium is delayed. Their current crowds are 150, give or take a few dozen, for normal games. Obviously they want to grow this and I'd guess part of their thinking is turning people away for big games wouldn't really help. From speaking to someone from the club at our play off game the new stadium is further out of the town than K-Park.

jamamafegan
You can see in that photo where the rows are, and it's looking steep. Glorious. On a side note, would be good if Hearts put some new seats because some of the old ones look gammy from a distance.

1320Lichtie
Does every team have to do a bowl these days? They're all boring as f**k. Yet to see Tottenhams but hopefully it has a bit of character about it. Middlesbrough Sunderland SwanseaHullLeicester Southampton etc are just the worst. Now Stokes filling in the corners so that's another one to add to the list. Absolutely no character at all.
