DunbartonshireRed
Looks like Ramirez could well be on his way. Left out of the Houston squad for their game last night and they look like they will be replacing him with the goalscoring machine Sam Baldock. .

Man, 32 years old playing for some decent standards of clubs and genuinely don't think I've ever heard of him.

Rodhull
No idea how reliable they are but saw this site saying that the deal for Ramirez is worth $250,000 plus add-ons. https://mlsmultiplex.com/2021/06/24/aberdeen-houston-dynamo-deal-christian-ramirez/
lubo_blaha
I should post this in the Scots in Europe forum but last time we got knocked out in away goals was over 20 years ago. My point was more that we’ve conceded once at home against Karat, Maribor, Apollon, Burnley and without that we would’ve gone to extra time or even gone straight through. Came close to costing us against Fola Esch, Siroki Brijeg and RoPS as well.
Guest Bob Mahelp
I suppose it's a fact that in Europe, good teams score away from home and don't concede at home. We're actually quite good at getting away goals, but utter pish at not conceding at home.
Dons_1988
Usually comes from us being over zealous/naive at home and/or making a catastrophic error which good teams to punish you for, even if you only give them one. Actually the Scotland game the other night reminded me of our tie with Rijeka when we went at them 100mph from kick off and after 10 minutes they cleared a corner, ran the length of the pitch unopposed and scored

TommyDickFingers
QUESTION 3 : I see Houston have signed a replacement for the ABZ bound Ramirez who could only be described as a no name, goal shy jobber. Can we therefore infer that Ramirez will bring the same lack of quality to the Aberdeen attack?
DukDukGoose
Question 4: Now that you've settled in to the role, decided on a style of play and are now looking to get your own players in, would you agree that Ian Durrant dived?
Dons_1988
With uefa scrapping the away goal rule with immediate effect having a direct impact on our upcoming euro qualifiers, would you rather scott brown or Declan Gallagher send scott wright into section Y with a tackle?

We're actually quite good at getting away goals, but utter pish at not conceding at home.Used to be the opposite - we had seven ties settled on away goals and only the most recent two (Dnipro and Shkendija) were wins.Could they nae have done this in the mid 80s, to spare me watching my wee brother greeting when Jonny Ekstrom equalised in the last minute for IFK Gothenburg in the European Cup QF?
