    As 1954/55 League Champions, Aberdeen were screwed over in favour of 5th placed Hibs, who finished 15 points behind us. Given that Hibs got to the semi final of the European Cup, it is very possible that Aberdeen would have won the first ever competition, and put Celtic’s gas at a peep.

    Ok. Nobody knows if Jimmy Thelin is going to be a success at Aberdeen. I’m pleased that we haven’t gone for the usual run of the mill Scottish manager, or someone with no track record, and he seems to be respected and liked at Elfsborg. He may have a great season and take us back to third or better.
