If I hadn't seen Shirkie play before a would be shouting from the roof tops to get him in the team after watching the U20 game.:lol:

Cant wait to see Nisbett get a proper shot at the first team.

Aye haha, actually think that role he was playing on either side of the front 3 might favour him rather than a central striker role, Welbeckesque type striker.

Some quick maths shows that McCall has gained 10 points from 12 games at 0.83 points per game.

To show how big an improvement that is, Mark Roberts earned 16 points from 15 games at 1.07 points per game...

To be fair, Roberts only earned 7 points from his last 12 league games at 0.58 per game and lost his last five.

Utterly terrible season.

10 points from 12 games after he arrived, 4 points from 12 before he arrived, hopefully Lachlan's decision to give Marko more time doesn't consign us to League 2.

Chocolate legs is getting a testimonial. Yippee.

He must be doing something right if he has survived 10 years of playing under a selection of the worst Ayr United managers in the clubs history.

He was a fantastic defender in his day, Always had the odd niggle but a bad injury maybe 4 years ago has meant he has missed at least 50% of the following seasons, A lot of this was probably due to him being rushed back in to the team due to lack of cover(either down to budget restrictions or Roberts/Reids inability to source a decent replacement) How many times did he come straight back in to the team under Roberts only to limp off after 30min ? Probably his pay per play contract has kept him at the club a couple of years longer than he normally would have.

We paid big money for his brother and Martin was a much better player, maybe the frustration of seeing him limp off many times in the last couple of seasons have soured peoples opinions of him but he has been a good servant for Ayr

Part of the problem for a long time , hope he is finally gone in the summer

That's perhaps more unfair than you intended... or maybe not. Roberts inability to sign a decent centre back to replace him has, primarily, been the problem.
