The "British act" for footballers these days is getting a sleeve tattoo when you're 14 and pupping a couple of scheme rats by the time you're 17. This c**t is "Sunday league style". Turn up hungover, belligerent and then melt someone that's better than you. I admire that.

Looked quite relaxed passing the ball about from the back on Saturday. Interesting to see how composed he is when playing against better opposition. Somebody who can play a midfield splitting pass from deep is just what we need.

Poet of the Macabre
Cathro has been speaking to the Daily Mail, including this cracker: Quote 'Every coach will have something that gives them the most inspiration, the most joy,' he says. 'Where I stand on that will never change. Having the ball, seeing your opponent need to drop back, stopping a team being able to press you, locking them in. The feeling that the ball is ours. I would get a physical feeling of joy. What an oddball he is.

NJ2
Wait, Scotland are actively seeking a young coach (see: talks with Jim McFadden) and Cathro’s getting his name out there...

topcat(The most tip top)
The oddness comes from his ability to talk a good game but when it comes to actually putting a decent team on the park, he doesn't have a fucking clue. (Aside from the 4-1 pumping of Sevco) To be fair his quote mentions pushing opponents back, keeping possession, not being pressed etc but doesn’t actually mention things like Scoring Goals or avoiding calamity at the backHearts performances under Cathro generally did contain a fair amount of football that could charitably fit his description. Hearts were playing good football, but playing good football badly. And it’s not as if Hearts stopped scoring goals completely. They slowed down but The main problem was that it was the kind of Hearts side where watching them go 1-0 up inspired as much dread as celebration. The dominant narrative has been that “Hearts were second in the league changed manager in December and limped home in 5th” but if you look past the Boyd vs Cathro bitchiest there’s another story “Hearts were doing well until December and then lost top scorer and defensive stalwart Callum Paterson and limped home in 5th” we’ll never know how Robbie would have dealt with CP’s departure or how much easier it would have been for Cathro if he’d played till summer but to ignore one story in favour of the other is clearly a mistake.Anyway it’s all water under the bridge now

topcat(The most tip top)
You mean like Craig Levein's free scoring Hearts team? At the moment Hearts fans get a lot of criticism for “tolerating” Levein’s defensiveness but after the calamitous defending of the Cathro era its more savouring than tolerating as far as I’m concerned And it’s been some time since we’ve failed to score so it’s not as if there’s no progress on that front.
