He's always willing to play out of position on the flank for us for balance. Never understood what goes through peoples head's thinking he's not good enough, but starts last night for Cameroon against Brazil. Saying he'll block Cochrane's development is also silly; he's 17 FFS. The onus on the youth players coming through, should be to perform to a level that they usurp the more regular, experienced players and not the other way around. Levein clearly has a solid track record with youths, so I don't think we need to worry about him doing a Craig Brown keeping experienced players in for self-preservation purposes. When we're playing good football he's a big part of that When we're dragged down into playing stereotypical old school Scottish football he's a bit of a passenger.
Navallion
It's really up to him, if he earns it then sure but no way I'd offer him a new one right now. I can understand his injury would of set him back quite some bit but that doesn't mean he's been playing well.

You could argue that tends to be ubiquitous trait with Scottish footballers.
NJ2
He was decent last time out. But come on ...... when was the last time you could say he really influenced a game ? He can’t still be getting a game based on a drag-back trick ( against Motherwell ? ) and one goal agsinst Hibs 2 or 3 years ago ! As for Levein’s record being good at bringing through lots of youngsters - jury’s out. He’s got to choose to play them, (not be forced by injuries) and persevere with them and improve them, for that to be true. If Cochrane and McDonald don’t start getting more game time they could easily stall. Which I wouldn’t like to see, just so that we can resign somebody who looks like they are only getting the finger out now because it’s contract renewal time edit:I suppose he did get that headed goal recently. Probably failed to duck properly !So apart from when he’s played well, when has he played well? He’s struggled with injuries and playing out of position but, that said, we’ve not seen him at his best often enough. I would still rather he stayed than left. Obviously it would depend on what he’s after money wise.

He’s got enough ability- but you need way more ability than he’s got to get away with “can’t be arsed” efforts. He’s looks elegant - got decent touch and can make easy passes well. But he never goes past a man, never shoots, never makes an incisive pass, never tackles, wins nothing in the air (okay once !) rarely scores. I think the phrase “ flatters to deceive” was created for him.

He certainly does shoot - I cringe every time he does - it's just that he's not very good at it.
GlamourBaws
is there a decent contingent heading through for the Linlithgow Rose game next Wednesday? Short trip on the train, plenty pubs between station and Prestonfield and a cracking social club to welcome you when you get there, £5 entry... sounds like a pretty good Wednesday night to me! We had over 2000 in at the end of June for the Hibs game, but not expecting close to that given its a Wednesday in November.

It will also see the return to action of Christophe Berra. Entry is £5. £5 to see Berra break down and limp off after 25 minutes then off to the Tap for a couple of celebratory pints? Sounds like a top night
Tony Wonder
Will Berra be involved? I thought Levein had him earmarked for Rangers, it'd surprise me if he played in a friendly 3 days before unless he's no chance of the Rangers game.
paranoid android
I'm sure I read Levein saying two players would be starting their comebacks against Linlithgow - wonder if Brandon might play?
