It's easy to get excited by Cathro but he's said in the past that he'd only start his management career with the right conditions and the two most important factors were that he'd have 100% complete control and a full pre-season to mould his own squad with his own ideas.

People can change their minds. He'll also have the Winter break.

Ruud Gullit was spotted leaving the Balmoral earlier

Neil Lennon was spotted looking at the pigs in Gorgie Farm.

All the best to Robbie though. Did a grand job despite some blemishes. The stats don't lie thought - our best manager for years.

And Scottish Cup winning Alan Stubbs never managed a game in the Scottish top-flight m8.

Amarite?

Scottish cup winning Alan Stubbs moved to a bigger club in a bigger league than Milton Keynes Dons in league 1 m8.

This is one of the most ridiculous management moves ever.

Hearts to an English Third Division side WTF !!

What has happened to Scottish football? :thumbsdown

I think it's too easy to get dramatic about the state of Scottish football over this.

I'm sure he doesn't believe MK Dons to be a bigger club than Hearts, more that it's a higher profile environment that they play in.  If you can turn a team round in England get them promotion to the Championship then he gets noticed and maybe takes another step up.  Additionally, MK Dons appear to have the rarest of qualities in English football which is a bit of patience with the manager.

Throw in the fact that Hearts fans are beginning to turn against him it's better to take his opportunity now rather than wait until getting sacked and his stock has fallen.

It's a personal gamble but I can see why he's taken it.
