Match of the Day 14/15

Never at any point one of the top 10/15 players in the world and is at best the 4th best central midfielder to have played in the premier league (I'd have him 5th). The current coverage in the UK is purely because he's English.

He's been in the FIFPro team of the year 3 times, and came 3rd in the 2005 Ballon d'Or...

Joey JoJo seems to be trying to reinvent himself as cultured and reasoned after a year in France. He he wasn't so reprehensible he might be able to make it as a pundit, though it is funny watching him try to stop someone from going batshit for little provocation on a football pitch.

There was boys up trees in the cup the other week when Dover played Crystal Palace. Although their pitch did look like it was in the middle of a forest.

There's no doubt Barton will be a pundit when he retires, he'll take on the 'Savage role', aka the village idiot. He's probably a bit too unpredictable for BBC though, probably a Sky or more likely BT Sport type job.

I'm surprised they let him on live TV again after his Question Time performance.

That is an utterly horrible call by the linesman to chop off Vertonghen's late goal.

He should be sacked it's that bad.

Definite sackable offence. He was about 10 yards inside his own half ffs.

To be fair, he does have a university degree, which even in the current climate of every polytechnic and college being a 'university' and dishing out 'degrees' for feck all effort, is still something fairly unusual for a professional footballer. So that's him and Steve Heighway in an elite group!

TD

and Brian Hall - his nickname was Little Bamber (as in Gascoigne) when Heighway's was Big Bamber.

Ruud's had a nightmare

He was determined not to admit that Swansea were absolutely stinking in that game. In his mind it was a swashbuckling Chelsea performance that no team in the world could have stopped, and that Swansea weren't allowed to play. Total nonsense to any normal person who watched those highlights.

Newcastle fans hoping John Carver gets the job (purely because he's a Geordie I'm suspecting).

Mike Ashley's life plan has clearly been to buy all the clubs with the thickest fans supporting them.

What are you on about? Check the poll results in the local paper, he would be a hugely unpopular appointment and has done nothing to deserve it.
