From 40 yards away wrongly deciding it was outside the box then compounding that first error by sending the keeper off for denying the Pace defender who was closest to him and the ball a goalscoring opportunity [emoji85]. Proper mind blowing stuff. [emoji1787][emoji1787]
Burnie_man
Superb start tonight and a dominant performance which could have been more. Hill of Beath sub came off the bench at 3-0 in the 53rd minute and 30 seconds later saw red after a horrendous tackle which set off a scuffle. Our player lucky not be be badly injured. Goals included a 40 yard lob and a 25 yard free kick in off the post. Attendance around the 80 mark.

All over them until the boy played a 1-2 with the crossbar at the penalty and the keepers heads-gone moment Tbf the boy playing at number 3 looked good for you guys, nearly there for the first team Edited September 7, 2019 by Spyro

Young Maughan was also on the bench as pushing for a place in the first team. Bonnyrigg next up on Friday.
Spyro
Witnessed an absolute robbery at Blackburn tonight. Somehow Blackburn kept a 1-0 lead from a first half penalty until just before full time when Spartans deservedly equalised. Only for Blackburn to steal a winner about 20 minutes into injury time after just being reduced to 10 men! Spartans were by FAR the better team, passing Blackburn off the park but hopeless in the final 1/3... don’t think the keeper had much to deal with at all. To be fair to Blackburn, after going 1 up, it was a masterclass on how to kill a game of football against a much stronger team with the persistence and determination paying off with the goal at the end. The 2 lads at center of defence were impenetrable and the rest never stopped working or let their heads go down after the equaliser. Definitely one for the purists

Watched Dalkeith beat on form Edinburgh United 2-1 at Kings Park. Thought a draw would have been a fair result but could have been 5-5. Great league. Well done Burnie They were brilliant mate. Great maturity and just played to their strengths, took the wind out of Spartans and left them completely out of heart by the end. I thought it was a great game, if not end-to-end and full of chances... the missus was bored sh!tless! They should be so proud of their efforts, us who know what it’s like to play against a much stronger opposition can appreciate what they did, and they played it absolutely perfectly

However, if Blackburn are set out to press high and limit chances and it works, then I’m not sure it can be called a robbery. One of the very few chances Spartans had they buried, but like you say the home team defended well throughout. Blackburn perhaps sat off too much in the second half and on another day could have paid the price but the players work rate was great. This league is doing great things for producing players for the EoS and Lowland in the future.

Used to wonder what team you supported since it isn’t all that clear at times on P&B! After our conversation, it now makes sense! Cheers!
