As a Mediterranean island, it's de facto European. Not one bit of Kazakhstan, nor the rest of the entrants east of the Urals and south of the Caucasus is actually within a credible boundary for Europe. Kick them out. On the basis they're (largely) Greek and Greece is considered a cradle of European civilisation. Plus they're in the EU so it would be difficult to say they're not eligible to play as a European team. Their geographical position, surrounded by the Mediterranean, probably makes it a lot easier to travel to Europe than much of Asia too. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
