In 1946-47, 1947-48, 1948-49 and 1949-50 East Fife qualified for the quarter finals of both the League Cup and Scottish Cup. Got me wondering what the record is for this. HibeeJibee Posted October 18, 2014 Share Posted October 18, 2014 What is more admirable about East Fife's efforts are: [1] they were in the lower division until 1948-49 [2] the format of the League Cup made it more difficult in those days, at least in 1948-49 & 1949-50 seasons... whereas in recent decades the tournament has been knockout, seeded, and top clubs have entered at the Last 32 or Last 16, in those days there was a Groupstage before QF and the groups were either purely A Division or purely B Division.
