Good posts Mr B.... but Glasgow North West staying labour. No chance

There will be one or two that make our jaws hit the floor. The Ashcroft poll here was tighter than in other places and apparently Labour have been campaigning pretty heavily.

Election 2015:

The Sarwar dynasty collapses after generations, Curran also gone as Glasgow follows the national trend to go Yellow. SNP gain 3 others seats as just NE and NW. Tory's save some deposits but Green's comfortablely Glasgow's third largest party. Lib Dems fail to save any deposits but the SSP and Communists have a successful night as they don't finish last. UKIP do as Farage disbands hid Scottish branch.

What they said:

Jim Murphy: Many of my wonderful Glaswegian colleagues careers are in tatters tonight, I will retain my seat. I will be first minister next year.

Nicola Sturgeon: A wonderful result in our largest city. The people of Glasgow have released that only the SNP care about Scotland.

Partick Harvie: unexpected and wonderful results for us in Glasgow. I thank the city.

Ruth Davidson: the Tory awakening is here

Willie Rennie: I will resign as Scittish Lib Dem leader once this election is over, but don't blame me

Nigel Farage: UKIP Scotland is a mess, I cannot allow my people's army to be like this.

Brian Taylor: Murphy and Labour's night goes from bad to worse, red Clydeside has all but been obliterated. Apparently the liberal gains in East ren were overstated, but the SNP still in the highest sprits at the count. Edinburgh is still a mystery and Charles Kennedy has moved onto a full bottle of Whiskey. The SNP in with a shout at the Kirkwall count according to informal accounts.

Charles Kennedy: I am delighted to here of the liberal landslide both I scoyland and the UK. All hail prime minister Clegg. Scotland is finally free.

Nick Clegg (as he loses his seat): Mr Charles Kenney has been suspended from the Liberal Democrats pending an investigation. I also hereby resign.

David Cameron: Ha ha labour

Ed milliband: I will talk to the SNP. But no coalition

Alex Salmond: If only this happened in September.

As it stands: 27 of 59 seats declared

Have messaged HomelandsOur to see when he's free to do the rest of them as I'm sure you'll all agree that it's what's making this thread entertaining ^_^

Rumours of recounts at the count in Giffnock, Jim Murphy's henchmen with a glum look on their face.

BBC Election 2015

With almost half of Scotland's constituecies counted and declared, it's time to take a look back at what's happened so far.

1) SNP hold Western Isles but Christian Party come 3rd - Sunday ferry cancelled until further notice..

2) Michael McCann and Eric Joyce have been arrested after attacking the victorious SNP candidates in East Kilbride and Falkirk.

3) Labour do better than expected - holding Northern Glasgow, Dunfermline and East Loithan.

4) A Lib Dem insurgency threatens to hand East Renfrewshire to the SNP, they may save saved their deposit.

5) Greens 3rd largest party in Glasgow and on course to be 4th largest by votes in Scotland

6) Willie Rennie has resigned, as has Nick Clegg after losing Sheffield Hallam.

7) No Tory gains expected.

8 ) Charles Kennedy thinks Nick Clegg is Prime Minister as he has moved onto Scotch at the Locahber count in Inverness.

The SNP will be delighted with this performance, and with rural Aberdeenshire (including Alex Salmond's seat) and Perthshire as well as Renfrewshire and Edinburgh still to come they will be confident of continuing gains. The unionist parties are scrambling for relevance in Scotland, a culling of leaders expected.

With 27 of 59 seats declared:

SNP: 22

Labour: 5

Tory: 0

Green: 0

Lib Dem: 0

Other: 0

Equal Parties ranked by votes

England in Brief:

Nick Clegg and Nigel Farage will no longer be MPs after narrowly losing out to the tories in Sheffield Hallam and South Thanet respectively, both have resigned. The green's have two MP's with Natalie Bennent joining Caroline Lucas in the commons. It is as yet unclear which of the major parties will govern.

Wales in Brief:

Plaid make dramatic and unexpected gains throughout the principality. Anglesey and Cardiff North are among the biggest Labour casualties. Labour are picking up most of the lib dem vote however so plaid will be Wales' 3rd party.

Northern Ireland in Brief:

Predictable in most area's but the SDLP take North Belfast as unionists are angry at the DUP-UUP pact - no unionist MP's in Belfast.

BBC Election 2015

Sorry for the technical difficulties, normal service has resumed. this is all getting rather boring now, at other set of predictable SNP gains. The big story of course comes from Paisley with abuse hurled towards victorious SNP candidate Mhari Black from Douglas Alexander's labour team. Disappointing results from the Tory's.

What they said:

Mhari Black: This abuse is unacceptable, I will look for a full investigation.

Douglas Alexander: I don't believe these people speak for me, or the Labour Party as a whole.

BBC Election 2015

Jim Murphy is Claiming Victory in Scotland day for labour Ashe holds his seat after a recount took 11 votes of the the Lib Dems which cause then to loose another deposit and hand Murphy victory. The North Ayrshire count has also gone to a surprising recount, a worrying sign for the SNP. The other Ayrshire seats go yellow comfortably as do seats in the nationalist heartland.

What They said

Jim Murphy: this day shall be known as Victory in Scotland day. A victory for Socialism over Nationalism.

Alex Salmond: a sad day for labour to have a lunatic as leader.
