BAWS
How highly do you rate him? Do you see him being a regular starter soon? I have never really rated him too highly, but the Palace fans seem to adore him! Must be something I'm not picking up on then or does he deserve a longer spell in the starting 11 before we can fully judge? http://www.holmesdale.net/page.php?id=106&tid=153318 The opinions of Palace fans on their forum. AsimButtHitsASix
I really rate him. I know he had a coupla years on McCarthy when they were at Accies but I thought he was the better player then whenever I saw them. Was surprised he got his move up after the howler of a season Wigan had last year but he seems to improve with better players round him. Great wee player

Great wee player Yeah it was good to see that he wasn't dragged forever into the abyss by Wigan. That Palace paid so much for him to bring him back into the EPL (and now play him every week) suggests that he is a proper top-level player. Blootoon87
I really rate him, he keeps everything neat and tidy. It's unfortunate for him that midfield is our strongest area, or he would have had a lot more caps.

Berttravers
Bloody hell!, we have no chance if James McArthur is someone we really rate. Very average and overpriced footballer. Good engine and neat and tidy?, is this what Scotland looks for in its players these days?
Bonksy+HisChristianParade
Aberdeen fans presumably think Ryan Jack's better.
oneteaminglasgow
I like James McArthur. I wouldn't have him starting just now, as I think Morrison is better than him and Brown is an absolute essential part of the team these days but he's a good player to have in the squad. AsimButtHitsASix
I reckon McArthur's a far superior player to Brown and also far less likely to give away daft free kicks

port-ton
He seems to be a really good midfielder who still hasn't found himself entirely comfortable playing for the national team. He always looks nervous or trying too hard when he comes on or starts and doesn't do the things he does well at club level as well at International level. He's been really quite poor for Scotland in my opinion and doesn't look like he belongs in our starting midfield whenever he's been given a chance to impress, but he has the ability to do so if he can overcome the mental obstacle that seems to be holding him back. RobbieD
Have to echo what the Palace fans are saying about him. Arguably their player of the year. Always works hard. I've been very impressed every time I've seen him play this season. I didn't think he was as good as he has proven to be this year and he still looks like he can get better.
