The Greenock Morton Thread - It's Better Than Yours

Recommended Posts

Most of the goals we've conceded this season have came from our left hand side. I think signing a left back and pushing Russell to midfield will improve us in two positions. Or Russell's injury is a bad one and that's why we're after a new left back? Hopefully not though.

Wonder if Romario will get a run out on Friday.

Despite average reports, they were only pre season games and I'm hoping he was just finding his feet.

Mccluskey has been poor so lets see what he has to offer.

I'd love to see him get a start on Friday night.

Realistically how many home fans do you's reckon we will get through the gates on Friday?

I can't make my mind up. On one hand it's a Friday night game being shown live on TV which might put many folk off (why I don't know), but on the other hand it's the first competitive game against the great unwashed in ages.

Peaso's not going to be fit every week, Scullion's more of a creative player than a goalscorer and finishing is the worst part of Johnstone's game while we've only scored twice in four games, so getting someone in was essential. Looking forward to seeing what he can do: if Samuel can add goals - with Tidser still to return too - and we can carry on defending as we have we'll be fine. If not it's not going to be a pretty season, but on the evidence so far the only thing that we're in dire need of is a goalscorer. If Samuel does turn out to be a success and Alloa and Livingston don't add anyone today, we can start to feel confident of staying up.

As an aside, does another striker coming in now mean a loan to League Two for Thomas Orr? It did wonders for Brian Graham to have a season at that level, albeit he was a couple of years older when he went than Orr is.
