Rab B Nesbit
Hopefully Everton pull off a good result tomorrow, a league cup derby final would be superb. What a final that would be Lichtie. Funnily enough it is meant to be the Merseyside Derby at Anfield that day anyway.
ICTChris
Besic in for Everton tonight? Don't think the Fuentes Mori is that solid at the back, be interesting to see how he copes with Aguero.
ICTChris
Tight opening half hour, neither team really creating much. It's a very 'first leg' sort of game.
ICTChris
Funes Mori gives Everton a halftime lead after they had a couple ruled out for offside.

accies1874
Whilst it was a good break, you shouldn't be conceding from your own corner.

accies1874
Hope to f**k this injury isn't serious. Everton have looked great for the last 45 minutes or so but their defence is always value for one or two goals at least.
accies1874
As good as a win would be, I can't see any possibility where this will be enough to take to the Etihad.

They need an early goal at the Etihad. Away goals only come into play during extra time, but I wouldn't want to run that risk.

So if City win 1-0 in the return leg, it will go to extra time, but they will effectively be suddenly leading the tie?

ICTChris
Agree with Moyes, thought Barry and Besic were very solid and shut out City.
MarkoRaj
So if City win 1-0 in the return leg, it will go to extra time, but they will effectively be suddenly leading the tie? It's the most ludicrous rule in football

Ira Gaines
As a fan of derbies on the whole, the scorelines suit me for a final which I'd actually be interested in. Can't remember the last time I watched an English league cup final, but I'd probably watch a Liverpool/Everton one.
Miguel Sanchez
I'm enjoying these highlights, where whatshername was doing a piece to camera wearing what appears to be one of John Motson's old coats while the people in the disabled section at Goodison were trying to filter out past her. jmothecat
Yep, it's a strange rule tbf. To me the opposite would make more sense. Away goals count during normal time, but not after extra time. Or just stick with away goals counting all the time or none of the time. This way seems to be the worse of all four options. Only thing that would be worse is if away goals count after the five first penalties in a shootout.
