Sloop John B Posted November 10, 2015 Share Posted November 10, 2015 If Monk goes it'll be pretty harsh but it's not like he's taken them to the next level rather just plodding along as they were sort of like Nigel Adkins at Southampton. He kept the squad together well after Bony left but they put too much faith in Gomis when they really needed to get someone better in. At present they are a better version of Bournemouth but they aren't that far away from having a team capable of getting the Europa league if they get a decent striker in. Desp Posted November 10, 2015 Share Posted November 10, 2015 There is no next level for Swansea. They've already won a domestic cup, and played in Europe. There's nowhere else for them to go. They'll never get into the Top 4, and they'd have to spend a serious amount of cash to try and challenge for a Europa place through the league. A tournament which they'd not give a f**k about if they actually got into it. Swansea will just be another of those clubs who yo-yo between 8th and 16th in the Premier League, and no-one really cares about. Effectively, the height of their ambitions would be to be another Stoke City. If it goes tits up and they end up relegated one season, see Fulham, Blackburn, Bolton, Middlesborough, Sheffield Wednesday... Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~~~ Posted November 13, 2015 Share Posted November 13, 2015 Former Sunderland keeper Marton Fulop has died aged 32 after a battle with cancer. Some nice words from Craig Gordon and Ricky Sbragia in the paper today I'd have been shocked if they came out and said some unpleasant things about him. Bully Wee Villa Posted November 19, 2015 Author Share Posted November 19, 2015 Not sure. You don't need to be that fully-fit to sit on a bench. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
forameus Posted November 19, 2015 Share Posted November 19, 2015 While there's nothing inherently wrong with it, and no harm in doing so, not sure why it's necessary. Seems a bit "look at how nice we're being" to me. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
