German Jag
Well deserved 3 points for H96 as they beat Hoffenheim 2-0 in a match played in awful conditions. Goalless at half-time, Füllkrug got the opener in the 59th minute. Sub Martin Harnik ensured the 3 points were staying in Hannover banging in the 2nd with 4 minutes to go.Result leaves H96 in 10th with a multitude of teams separated by just 5 points from Leipzig in 2nd down to Hannover.Next up is ‚englische Woche‘ which is what Germans refer to a round of midweek games as. H96 travel to Berlin on Wednesday.
Mr. Brightside
Peter Stöger will be laughing. Sacked for his horrendous form with Köln and ends up with the Dortmund job!
Stellaboz
Sacked for having 7 first team players injured, his main striker sold and told by the board he's not allowed to replace them despite financial stability. Fans are pissed off and rightly so.Shit like yesterday just highlights the situation
Mr. Brightside
Two points from what? 14 games? Hardly unjustified.
lanky_ffc
Freiburg have just been awarded a penalty for their player tripping over his own feet. Ref waved it away, but got the shout from VAR. Mental decision
BallochSonsFan
Frankfurt v Schalke on Saturday. Expecting a good game. Getting the train from Mannheim and then the tram to the ground. Printed my free tram pass with my print at home tickets.

David W
An absolute stunner of a game. Sometimes you get a 4-4 where the goals are the only chances, this one could have been 8-8. A draw absolutely fair.
JamieStevenson
Leipzig are incredibly shit. Some game this.

They're dreadful whenever Forsberg or Keita don't play. They also need a better partner for Orban. Upamecano and Konate are both far too error-prone.

Start off level, then behind, then level, then in front, then level, then in front, then level, then behind, then level. Result means that, after the completed 1st round of games, H96 are in 11th with 23 pts. A scenario most fans would have taken prior to the start of the campaign. Bayern sit top with 41 pts, with Schalke a distant 11 points away. After Schalke there are umpteen clubs capable of CL spots or not, based on just a couple of games . At the bottom, Cologne seem to be a lost cause, although picking up their 1st win on Saturday against Wolfsburg will give them some hope.
BallochSonsFan
Frankfurt v Schalke was a decent game. Both teams playing very direct Both creating chances. The draw was probably the right outcome, although it was the last touch on the ball in injury time. Frankfurt were claiming for a foul/hand ball in the build up to the goal. It was a great day at the Commerz-bank Arena. It's a really impressive stadium, although I've never seen as many police on show outside a ground. Not even a hint of trouble. Loads of vendors selling some interesting stuff, including a scarf I regret not buying with an anti-money message for Leipzig (f**k you industry, football is for the fans). Loads of folk out doing stuff on behalf of the various fans groups. No matchday programme, but a free game booklet. Strange to see fanzines on sale when the internet has effectively killed off print fanzines in UK football. I thought the exposed concourses worked well as the stadium's perimeter fence allows fans to wander and see all the different things on offer on match day. The big screen hanging from the middle of the stadium roof (wasn't closed on Saturday) was good for goal replays and highlights at half time. I'd go back to Frankfurt for a Bundesliga game in a heartbeat.
Am Featha Taigh Nan Clach
Noticed it was a very poor attendance at Hannover. Any reason for that other than it being midweek?
German Jag
Noticed it was a very poor attendance at Hannover. Any reason for that other than it being midweek? Think you‘re getting mixed up a bit. The midweek game was at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. Midweek game, shite weather (horizontal rain), freezing cold and close to Christmas. Hertha never sell out apart from when Bayern or Dortmund are visiting, so the 29908 was probably what they were expecting. Seems strange that a city the size of Berlin can’t generate larger crowds. I took the photo below, about a minute before kick-off. Sunday’s crowd in Hannover was a good bit lower than this season’s average. Sunday game, weekend before Christmas plus Leverkusen aren’t considered a big draw ( despite their high placing).

Hertha is known to be the club of Western Berlin. Some fans stick to their Eastern teams and people from the suburbs and the east couldn't attend Hertha games till 1989. The attachment won't be there for some Berliners and you will always struggle to attract new fans.

Can't link it ATM, but Copa90 had an interesting video on their FB page where they visited a number of different teams in Berlin over the same weekend. Seems like the city has a lot of teams at many levels in the league set-up and fans have close connections to their local teams, so may also be a case of the population being spread rather than focused on one or two big sides.

Well aware of the history etc. Just find the overall support on the low side considering the total catchment area. Also, Dynamo Berlin fans should not be getting held up as examples of fan culture. Shower of right-wing clowns with a reputation of not just looking for a fight, but wanting to start them in the first place.
