catcoach
So many good amateur players in area with the good clubs in area. Must be finding it to difficult to recruit new under 21 players and have thought amateur football best bet. Like you and others, I am shocked to hear this news. I saw they were advertising for Under-21 players in the Times.Having worked with Mr Marley some years ago, I know how much time he put into the Blackies. The club always had a committee, but everyone knows Mr Marley was Campsie Black Watch. Will be strange to see them now playing amateur football. Even at that level it won't be easy. As of yesterday, Wellhouse Amateurs, West Cup holders and Scottish Cup winners in 2013, folded. Founder Mr Robert Noble, another gentleman in football, founded the club in September, 1976. TexasForever
It would make sense for a club like Campsie Black Watch to go amateur or even junior. Think of the players they have had in their ranks that have went junior and beyond, they defiently would have been a force. Will be interesting to see what happens.
