fanny paddery
Do NOT use your credit card in the strippers, unless of course you are happy to retrospectively pay £5k for a dance!
Mr Rational
Experience talking? My wee brother is marrying a girl from along the coast from Gdansk. She is an absolute cracker, speaks better English than I do, has just finished Uni and is rather pleasing on the eye. He's a lucky boy.
SaltcoatsSaint
Back from Gdansk less than two weeks ago. Thats the3rd time my wife and I have been its a fantastic place especially if you are boring farts like us and like museums !!! The boat trip to Sopot from Gdansk is excellent just even if just to view the shipyards "where it all kicked off" Sopot itself is mainly a beach resort but its ok. If you want any more info letme know !!

Tight minge
Certainly not the best city or town in Poland, but decent. Enough good bars and restaurants. The weather may not be the best but Sopot is still decent, nice beach. Certainly good for a few days.

SaltcoatsSaint
There are a few and they all leave from very close to the famous crane its a fair bit more expensive than the train I think it worked out at £26 return for the two of us - but is a good way to travel. centralTon
gdansk is a bit meh in all honestly, plenty pubs etc but not much to seeWow!!! Gdansk was a fantastic city, full of fascinating history. Beautiful city centre, Westerplatte where the 1st shots were fired in the 2nd world war, Solidarnosc museum and Gdansk shipyard, 2nd world war museum, birthplace of Fahrenheit, German and Soviet occupation and cheap, quality food and beer. Couldn't recommend it highly enough and will try to get back in a couple of years.
LongTimeLurker
Not sure it's sensible to talk about German occupation given it was a German city for several centuries and Germany's most famous post-WWII author, Gunter Grass, grew up there.
