Bold Rover
Over the last couple of months I've been moving my daughter into a flat in Yorkhill so have found myself in the vicinity of the iconic Kelvin Hall. It saddens me a little to see it unloved and decrepit. But there's some construction activity on the west elevation. Do any PnBers know what's happening to this magnificent edifice, a symbol of Glasgow's heyday?
MacDuffman
It was done up for the Games last year. Think they are doing something with it now?

Bold Rover
It was done up for the Games last year. Think they are doing something with it now? Really? What part of the Commonwealth Games were held in the KH? It looks as though no-one's been over its doors since the Transport Museum moved out. Bold Rover
It's getting redeveloped. My company are involved. As what? Still a public space? It seems that the soulless SECC has rendered the KH redundant.

Zen Archer (Raconteur)
Can you still smell the elephants. It's free to get in but you have to pay for that.
Glenconner
The Kelvin Hall had a number of big turns during the year pre the SECC opening. The carvinal and circus that ran for eight weeks stating in December to the end of January. Some tasty gang fights back in the day. A month long modern homes exhibition. The old firm held their annual supporters rallies there. The BB and the Boys Scouts jamborees. Rio Stakis even had one of his first rubber chicken restaurants in the place, early 1970s. List was endless. Eventually the Transpory Museum moved in. Think it was even bombed during WW2 the same night as the Clydebank Blitz.
