Loki
It's incredible to see Spain not in the World Group. Good opportunities as the I believe if we went through against the USA we would be due to play France at home as well if they got past Germany.

Never understood why he has never played in one of these diddy 250 clay events earlier in yr, so he can add clay title to the bag..
booitsme7
Andy Murray plays Somdev Devvarman in the 2nd Round of the Shenzhen Open. Murray has played him once winning that match which was at the US Open in 2011 in straight sets.
Tommy Nooka
Quite a tough draw for 250 event. Never understood why he has never played in one of these diddy 250 clay events earlier in yr, so he can add clay title to the bag.. He couldn't win a clay tournament when he was playing the best tennis of his career so he was highly unlikely to win one when he was in the worst form of his career, even a 'lowly' 250. I'm sure Andy thought the same. I'm glad I didn't choose this year to go down to the ATP finals, of course it's not all about Andy but it would definitely be a better tournament if he was there.
booitsme7
Andy Murray beat Somdev Devvarman 6-3 6-3. Lukas Lacko is next for Murray after he beat Ricardas Berankis 6-4 7-6. Murray has played Lacko twice and has beat him both times. Top seed David Ferrer is out losing 6-3 6-4 to Viktor Troicki.
TheScarf
Looking at the draw, only Gasquet in the semi could pose Murray a threat to this first title of the year IMO.

As he hates clay and can't be bothered playing on it. He doesn't care if he never wins a title on clay. The little time he spends on the clay the better for his health and mood. Murray has only ever played mandatory events on clay. If he really wanted to win a title on clay he could play them all over Europe after the grass court season, play in the South American swing, and add the 500 clay court events throughout the world. He plays Juan Monaco tomorrow for a place in the Final, which will be his first since July 2013, if he makes it through. Ferrer having already exited the tournament means that he will most likely play Tommy Robredo in the final. (Although Giraldo does lead 2-1 in their head to head), Both Ferrer and Gasquet who are in the running for the ATP Finals both went out early. The draw for the Beijing Open will be out tomorrow I think, ideally he will be drawn in Berdych or Cilic quarters knowing full well if he gets past them he will stand to overtake him in the Race.

Loki
It is about the best draw he could have hoped for. In Cilic's quarter so by beating him he will gain ground on him. R1 Janowicz, R2 Cuevas/Qualifier QF Cilic SF Djokovic F Nadal
peasy23
One set all now, Robredo took the first 7-5 and Murray has just won the tie break 11-9 to win the second set. He was 4-2 up and serving yet contrived to make it a lot harder than it needed to be.
booitsme7
Very gutsy from Murray in the tie-break win as Robredo had 4 match points in a row and then a 5th with 3 of them on his own serve. In the 3rd set now and Murray broke Robredo first game and is currently leading 2-1 with a break.
booitsme7
It`s all over as Murray takes the last set 6-1. Andy Murray has won a trophy his first in 15 months.
peasy23
Easy third set after Robredo literally seized up. Fair play to him for playing it out, plenty others might have suddenly been "injured" and unable to continue.
