Loki
A few Youhzny errors has handed Murray an early break to lead 2-0. Murray now a double break up leading 3-0. Edited August 14, 2013 by Loki
TheScarf
Murray always plays well when I'm at work. Like clockwork. When I get home in 20 minutes time, he'll be losing 3-6 0-5 or something. Edited August 14, 2013 by TheScarf
Loki
He isn't playing well. youhzny is handing him the games so far. In the first four games Youhzny had 15 unforced errors. He isn't pulling Youhzny all over the court, he is just giving him chipped forehands and backhands with a lot of spin.

Loki
Is now a double break up 4-1 in the second set now as well. Only someone like Cilic could lose from here. Mikhail will be thanking me for jinxing Murray.

lichtie23
Bartoli retired from tennis last night. Think she had a lot of niggling injuries. Not a bad way to finish her career this year.
Loki
Maybe the BBC or ITV could employ Bartoli (someone with a great knowledge of tennis) to bolster their coverage say instead of John Inverdale. That would be immensely funny and also better their broadcast teams. Although Jim Courier and Fabrice Santoro are brilliant for ITV. Beats McEnore, Becker and Barker anyday.
Loki
Federer comes back from losing the first set 6-1 to beat Tommy Haas in three sets. Murray has raced into a 3-0 lead with a double break against Benneteau. Looks imperious today. More so than he did against Youhzny. Later on should be an interesting match. Nadal vs Dimitrov. If Dimitrov comes to play it should be a well contested game and the upset is a possibility, however he is very inconsistent. He did superbly against Nadal on clay in an earlier Masters event this year losing the deciding set. Wouldn't be surprised to see Dimitrov take a set.

Loki
Del Porto took three sets to reach the semi finals, and has mentioned that he has been having wrist problems like he had earlier on in the year. Not a good time to develop a problem in his wrist particularly if he found his forehand again in two weeks time he would be a contender to win the US Open again. Djokovic was in a bit of trouble against Isner but is currently a break up in the second set, so has a good opportunity to level the match. Hopefully Murray and Nadal both go through. Murray has not played Nadal while Lendl has been his coach, so it will be interesting to see how he will approach the match. Although he has to get past Berdych, Berdych has a winning head to head record against Murray 5-4. Although Murray has won four out of five hard court matches. I fully expect Nadal to dismantle Federer tonight. Federer's movement is not the best currently and Nadal is playing excellently.
Jamie_B
Djokovic out after losing in three sets to Isner. Murray and Berdych on serve in the first set. I think that means Murray will close the ranking points gap to Djokovic just a little bit even if he doesn't go any further in the tournament? Djoko was runner up here last year while Murray had very little to defend!
Loki
Murray is currently a set and a break down to Berdych so even if he doesn't recover from that he will gain 90 points from last year and Djokovic will drop 420. So a swing of 510 points closer. However if Murray can not recover this deficit and Nadal was to win this Masters tournament he would drop to Number 3 in the world and be ranked 3 for the US Open.
WullieBroonIsGod
Berdych wins 6-3, 6-4. Rafa v Fed on at midnight (ss4)
Loki
Murray's forehand wasn't good tonight and he couldn't get much purchase on it at all. Berdych was solid and found his lines and length well. He can generate power for fun at times. A bit disappointed that Murray didn't get through as I would have liked to see the match up with Nadal. But Berdych deserved it and increases his head to head lead to 6-4.
TheScarf
I don't get too upset when Andy loses a match, but he was fucking woeful last night, you can't be woeful against a top 10'er. A guy in the top 40 yes perhaps.
Loki
Nadal wins Cincinatti Vs John Isner without creating a single break point. A disastrous result for Murray as he slips to World #3 and a number three seeding. His losses to Gulbis and Berdych will see him potentially with a more difficult draw for the US Open. Djokovic or Nadal could get an easy ride with an out of form Ferrer going to be in their half. Berdych will climb above Federer for the first time in his career and will be seeded fifth for the US Open. The last time Federer was seeded this low he hadn't even won a grand slam.
