Personally i think there should be a cut-off time in situations like this. Say 12pm or so. call it off then before people have travelled or at least try and play and see what happens.

It was just unfortunate and ref was in a no win situation. You can't really base decisions on weather forecasts

Agreed, people would start getting angry if matches were called off and the conditions turn out to be perfectly playable.

These.

Arbroath manager in paper saying no wind to speak of at 12:30pm. "There was no wind. It was a very calm day. I've also seen games here where the wind is horrendous in the first-half and it disappears at half-time".

Matches also started and finished at Aberdeen, Dundee, Forfar, Stonehaven and oddly enough even Arbroath Vics (1:45pm ko).

Looking at this the other way though matches are sometimes declared on based on the forecast and what the groundsman thinks he can do to get a pitch playable in the time left until kick-off.

If it's forecast to be windy in Arbroath you can be sure it will affect Galefield. I din't think anyone would have complained if it had been called off based on the forecast.

Re the pricing - it was the normal arrangements surely whereby the home club lowers its normal price for a tie v a club from a lower league, keeps it the same for a match v a club in same league, and increases it for a club from a higher one. Reflects the pricing differentials between different tier clubs. The segregation also usefully confirms just what is considered the away end and the home end at Gayfield.

No it wasn't normal. We're the highest in this league at £13 already, we didn't put them up because we were playing Cowdenbeath ffs, no offence but you're probably the least glamorous club in the leagues after the Shire. It's a bit of a joke it went up, and it went up because they thought we'd get a bigger crowd because of the chance of facing Sevco in the next round.

The segregation is also only in place because of the trouble in 2012. We don't do it for any league games apart from Montrose.

Totally different in the town though. The Vics game would've just been like a normal days conditions. Down the front is a different story.

You are completely wrong - Arbroath confirmed admission prices for their home replay before the draw for the next round was made. As for Cowden being the least glamorous club in the Leagues after the Shire - it is you that is having a laugh - CFC a club that has spent 4 out of 5 years in the Championship plus has a recent history of rivalry v Arbroath is nowhere near that low a relative status. Nobody mentioned glamour though.
