Does it? Rangers fans w**k all over anything poppy related.

Walk past ibrox on match day, even in fucking May and there's scarves being sold with "lLest we forget on them"

Only thing you lot forget is taxes.

And every shocking decision that's gone their way for years, when one (usually irrelvant) decision goes against them

Presumably Waitrose are only supporting veteran officers Asda are only supporting non commissioned veterans

And Aldi have their own charitable priorities...

Surely the simplest solution is to make a donation but not take or wear a poppy?

Your conscience is clear, you’ve done your bit for the environment and no imaginary muslims can take offence.

The simplest solution is to ignore it all and not contribute to it in any way.

Good move for your public self-worth barometer.  I have personal reasons for having CHAS as my charity of choice, not to sell any "ain't i a guid guy" shit as inferred.

Why mention it on a thread about poppies? Giving to one doesn't exclude the other.

I was clarifying to another fanny on here earlier who questioned motives, etc, for not buying a poppy.  Your opinions and wee digs are noted, but count for nada.

But you quoted DA, who correctly and on topic suggested ignoring poppy day. Why was there any need for clarification?

Sarge, you were at this wee nippy shit stuff before and you're still miffed by the sounds of it.  You, in your infinite wisdom and overlording here, form your own opinions and conclusions to what's out there.

I have no intentions of sating your wish for the desire to pick as many holes as you see from the sanctuary of your wee barracks, so, if it makes you feel better, you have a point.

Fini (or if you must have the last word, dadd oan).

I used to support that charity, along with many others, when appropriate.  After it became the badge of honour for the The rangers, who apparently support the armed forces - except when legitimately paying through the correct channels like everyone else to do so - it became their "cause celebre".  I chose not to be associated with that hijacking.

I do, however, pay contributions regularly to a charity close to my heart - CHAS.   I trust that will meet with your approval.

Over the years i have reduced the number of charities i have supported and now only really concentrate on CHAS.  The poppy thing was easy for me to decide on when it became uber-political and a selective "cause celebre" for those and those.

Or in my case, give all or most charitable donations to CHAS.

Seemingly having PTSD causes people to act like racist arseholes....

....or it could be the mindset of many who have served in the forces???

Im currently supporting an ex services person with severe ptsd, you’ve no idea how bad it is. Im no supporter or lover of ‘britain’ and ‘our lads’ type shite, but some guys have had their brains put through a blender and during their time in the military absolutely been fucked beyond anything we can comprehend.

I'm not disputing many have come back with serious problems and severe mental health issues, point I am making is, aside from that there is a large section of people who, once they have spent a period of time in the forces and having the state fed, politically motivated mantra about Britain being great and all muslims and immigrants being bad, upon taking all that fucking bullshit in they turn into dull brained, xenophobic, racist fuckwits, much like the moron in the story who, somewhat pathetically tried to attribute his racist areseholery down to PTSD.
