craigkillie Posted December 19, 2015 Share Posted December 19, 2015 I'm trying to sort out a personal database of Scottish football appearances based on John Litster's data, but I have an issue with two players called John Murray, who I reckon might have had their histories mixed up in his records. I'm looking for season by season appearance info for the following two players: John Anthony Murray - Morton, Celtic, Queen of the South John McCann Murray - Motherwell, Stranraer Both were around in the 1960s. No histories of the others. Celtic no-one called Murray from 1959-60 to 1971-72 inclusive, including local cup-ties Motherwell first appearance 1st Feb 1962 1962-63 - 9 league games 1963-64 - 22 league games, 5 Scottish Cup games (Summer Cup not listed) 1964-65 - 27 league games, 6 League Cup games, 5 Scottish Cup games (Summer Cup teams not listed) 1965-66 - 34 league games, 6 League Cup games, 3 Scottish Cup games - ever present! 1966-67 - 26 leagues games (inc 5 as substitute), 2 League Cup games, 1 Scottish Cup game 1967-68 - 14 league games, 3 League Cup games 1968-69 - 20 league games (inc 6 as substitute), 2 Scottish Cup games 1969-70 - 11 league games (inc 8 as substitute), 8 League Cup games (all as substitute) (Lanarkshire Cup team not listed) last appearance 3rd Jan 1970 Unfortunately there is an error in the Directory section and all the Ms after the Macs/Mcs are omitted. Given our tendency to sign players in then twilight of their career at that time quite possible he played elsewhere in Scotland in the 60s.
