Jan Vojáček
Really interesting. Can I ask how you sourced this? You got similar stats for all 42 clubs? Beat me to it, I'd be fascinated to know our average given we've gone from 8th in the 3rd in 2008 to as high as 5th in the Championship in 2013/14. I'd guess it would be around mid-table League One - ironically somewhere we haven't actually spent a great deal of time! I'm sure I could work out it myself, but it really would be a wee bit too much work for this time in the evening on a Sunday.
Gordon EF
Really interesting. Can I ask how you sourced this? You got similar stats for all 42 clubs? The football mad websites are really good for giving a league history of all the clubs. Just had a look through each team's record and stuck them into a spreadsheet. I've been studying all day. If I get bored enough of that, I might do all 42 clubs and post up the results.

stm
Thanks for the all clubs information. One thing that sprung to mind is that Scotland really only has a market for around 24 full time clubs. Most other 'professional' sides shall forever remain part-time. Not that I'm engaging a discussion on league sizes but it appears no relationship exists between the size of a league and the extent of domination. I'd be surprised if the top 20-25 weren't filling higher league placings in the years to come, even with some potential changes due to pyramid developments. QPSAFalkirkFirm
What's interesting is how similar your breaks are to the actual current members of each league. Just a few exceptions. So, probably just all wasting our time You're a scary man if this is your relaxer. Can I get your autograph now before you're famous?

So, probably just all wasting our time You're a scary man if this is your relaxer. Can I get your autograph now before you're famous? the averages do tend to hide the extent that some teams have moved around over the years. As sonsteam says, Dumbarton have moved from middle table league 2 to mid table Championship over that time and12 of the clubs have appeared in 3 of the 4 leagues over the last 10 years - Ross County, Partick, Dunfermline, Livingston, Rangers, Cowdenbeath, Brechn, Alloa, Dumbarton, Stirling, Stranraer, Clyde. It's a few clubs at the very top and the very bottom who haven't moved between the leagues over that time.
