Johan Cruyff
Of course Dumbarton fans are a bit hacked off with this as it was hardly the regionalisation that it was made out to be (although that was obviously journalists with no idea making up nonsense groups so why is anyone surprised). Was hoping for at least one or two local games against teams we've not played for a while (Albion Rovers, Hamilton etc). No offence but not really interested in travelling up to Angus in a "regional" group. Doubt very much any of the Northern fans will be coming to our bit either. Maybe should be looking at more than 2 regions in future?
Only one David Marsh
If teams are feared of travelling then they can go join the juniors it's senior football our journeys are short compared to other countries

The whole point of the regionalisation was to reduce travelling and increase derbies.

Why do we even need to draw them out of a hat just put teams in groups to increase crowds and rivalries.

And again if there was no draw/seeds and change just how boring would this get after 2/3 seasons... Seeds will change every year remember... And they'll vary quite a bit as the top 4 are excluded. Then the same people moan about playing the same teams every year. The way they have done it is probably the best they can do some teams win others lose. It's no different from having to play a northern team in midweek replays or challenge cup matches

Just make it a straight draw with seeds.
Ned Nederlander
Dumbarton canny really play in the Stirlingshire Cup then moan about being lumped in with Falkirk, The Binos and Alloa in this !
Ned Nederlander
League tables do lie when a club finishing higher than another had home advantage over them. Change grrrrr ( )

I agree - we shouldn't be in the Stirlingshire Cup - absolute farce of a competition that I (and most fans I know) couldn't give a monkeys about. Skyline Drifter
Maybe should be looking at more than 2 regions in future? What difference would that make? You can have 8 regions if you like but based on the 8 sides who fall into the second seeding pot you'd still be in with 4 "northern" sides. It's not really the regions that cause your problem, it's that you are 2nd seeds. Thats not really an argument. The whole point of the regionalisation was to reduce travelling and increase derbies. Which this method will on average do. Someone was bound to be out of luck on it though, it appears it's you (though the draw may yet not be as unkind to you as you fear). It'll be "ken", "fit" and "eh" no matter where we end up.....

You could potentially get St Johnstone or Dundee, playing them at home, and three non seeds from Dunfermline, Alloa, Stirling Albion, Cowdenbeath and East Fife. A couple of away trips to Stirling and Alloa would leave you with shorter trips than any away game we can get other than Annan. Granted that's best case but let's not pretend you are necessarily being sent to Norway yet.

AMC13
Folk will moan about anything i actually like it it's something different. Dumbarton are in the North section this is just unlucky for them, most teams are in the central belt so someone would have to play in Dingwall, Inverness etc no-one will have it perfect that's just the way it is. lionel hutz
Dumbarton are victims of their own success. The SPFL probably expected Livi to finish ahead of Dumbarton. If Dumbarton had finish 9th instead of 8th then they would be in the South group and Livi would be in the North group. In future maybe make the top team seeded and have the 2nd and 3rd teams thrown together in the same pot?
