Before hammell was he just standing there waiting on someone working the controls? I think it’s the opposite. Alexander spoke in completely intangible concepts. Endeavour, hard work, belief, dream, and on and on and on and on. His press conferences became pointless because he told us nothing. I always thought if that’s how he comes across in the dressing room then no wonder the players have switched off to the message. Mainly because I didn’t have a clue what the message was.

He seems pleased with these, how many did he have before? No room for individuality based on his reading of the game? What other options are there? An aimless hump in the vague direction of the opposite wing to set up an opposition attack.

rowsdower
Looking forward to Paul McGinn putting Efford clean through the middle with 60 yard punt, and Efford turning around and firing it right back at him.
crazylegsjoe_mfc
They have probably worked on the scenario where the ball goes out wide, the full back comes up in support and the number 10 comes and shows for the ball. Neither of which were things you saw in an Alexander team. His full backs were narrow centre backs who weren’t allowed past half way, there was rarely a midfielder with attacking intent in those areas and even the third option of going 1v1 probably wasn’t “percentage” enough.

Ill Ray
Good to see Robbo (hopefully) finally getting the result he deserves against Celtic. No dodgy red cards or penalties now I hope.
Handsome_Devil
St Mirren have been brilliant, Celtic look like someone dosed their pre-match tea...if we play like them later you'd be raging.
Handsome_Devil
I sense a frustrating pattern to this season when we play nice stuff box to box but can't finish and can't defend...
welldaft
I said in a post during Alexander reign. Would people be happier if we were playing nice football and losing games. Looks like we are about to find out. Missing absolute sitters. How McGinn misses I will never know. We beat Hearts at home twice last season Before they scored the second I would say we should have been winning the game. I also said central defence needed urgent attention. The football has been and is easier on the eye but we seem to have gone from scoring from few chances to missing a barrow load.
Handsome_Devil
I think people will tolerate this for a while given the extent of the Alexanderball and the fact it's Hammell. At least until we look in relegation bother. We're clearly not far away from being an ok side - mainly a first pick CB and being a bit more clincal up front - but this looks like being a hugely frustrating season in terms of walking away from games lost we should have won. On the balance of play we obviously should never have lost today but ultimately if you can't defend and can't score you'll get beat and can have few complaints.
welldaft
Nearly 3 times as many shots as Hearts and 3-0 defeat looming. It is hard to fault the players. We have had no luck at all today. We have played well up until the final 3rd. But yes playing nice football and losing 3-0 will test the patience.
