Double Winning St Johnstone FC Thread

Recommended Posts

I really don't think the football is as bad as some seem to be intimating here and elsewhere, but equally I think the bringing in of two explicitly pacey strikers is exactly what this squad has needed for ages. We've got grafters and bully-boys and a poacher in Clark, but the fall-off from Kane and May has been a big factor in our lack of goals. Having young pacey guys to change things up I think is potentially huge for us and it paid off already yesterday. If we can just plug away and be safe with a few weeks to spare so we can blood some young guys then this season will not have been a waste imo.

Mind how we thought the BBC were getting trolled by some roaster suggesting we bin Dimi and sign David Marshall?

I think we now have proof that is indeed the case. Or just someone at the BBC itself having a laugh.

That's delightful

Looking better, but still some deadwood to get rid of.  Might seem harsh, but I would include Gallagher in that. We can surely find a a better LWB.

Maybe so - depends on whether there's potential improvement in him under these coaches. Hard for us fans to say.

I thought he was one of the better performers at the weekend, although that's a low bar. And he's missed two sitters this season.

I'd not be upset at him staying if he's relatively cheap but would be looking to get someone to start ahead of him.

What happened between him and Levein?

In short.  It goes back to when Stewart played under him at Hearts.  He came in on loan from Man United, acted like he was big time but was basically shite. Levein told him he was shite and Mikey didn’t like it.

You were after him in January. He wanted to join.

By "in for him in January", you mean "he begged his agent to flash his knickers at every club in Tayside as he desperately wants to play in the region regularly again", i guess?

No, not at all. St Johnstone football club were negotiating to bring Simon Murray to Perth - and Simon was more than interested.

Over 27 years Perth has had an SNP MP.

Education is free(ish) pal, everyone should take advantage of that.

I know, admittedly however I only became aware of this last week (I knew perth had an SNP MP but did not know for so long) as I was at a BBC debate night and we were discussing swing seats before hand and I assumed perth was a bit of a swing seat like my town Stirling.

Murray was one I did think we’d have maybe tried to go after.
