Nimmo's Notes
Should there be an "all-in" Scottish Cup for non-league teams? All the South Regional Cup teams, North Regional Cup and Juniors. Would have to be fairly regional, with several districts, in the early rounds, until we reach the last 16, then it would be an open draw. First step towards a true pyramid system. HibeeJibee
Worth saying there isn't a North Challenge Cup, it was scrapped in 2009. It featured HL clubs, Golspie, and for a season a Shetland XI. Up north there are 18 teams playing 34 league games, instead of 16 teams playing 30 league games. Only the Highland League Cup is played on weekends, running February to April (and ties get a second Saturday if postponed). As in LL there is also a local cup for each club - indeed for the eastern HL clubs there are actually two: Aberdeenshire Cup and Shield are both played on midweek in the autumn, but the Ab Cup final is played on a weekend. North of Scotland Cup for western HL clubs is played off the end of the season, like the LL Cup. (By rights it'd make sense for the Ab Cup or Shield to do similarly but evidently that's not happened so far for whatever reason). So an oddity is eastern HL clubs play 2 of 3 'domestic' cups midweek - western play all theirs on weekends!

We went from a young lad (obviously burnt oot from too many games) to a clearly unfit substitute aboot twice his age. Pushing Dale forward wasnt the answer. Nae disrespect to the sub it's a team game but surely there are decent young amateurs or 20 s players (not necessary ww players or development loanees ) oot there who are hungry and desperate to prove themselves. Something of a shock tonight ... East Stirlingshire 2 Cumbernauld Colts

Shire looked ok in the 1st half despite losing a goal after 41 seconds and hit the woodwork but never looked like scoring again (their 2nd came with the last touch of the ball and made it look closer than what it was). Colts had few chances but managed to score with all 3 on target, they played quite well despite looking a very young side.

It's varied from a LL ground to an SPFL ground. (ww played Dalbeattie at Galabank ) Airdrie would seem central with ochilview or Falkirk stadium alternatives. it's all down to availability. With all that in mind I've no doubt the Albert Park Hawick will be chosen
HibeeJibee
Supposedly there isn't any actual criteria on where the final should be played other than the principle that it should be a venue with covered seats. Albeit nowadays virtually everyone in LL has those anyway! Most often it's been played at Scottish League grounds, but not always - indeed the first edition, and the last two editions, were not. Here is the complete list:2007-08 ... Annan v Edinburgh City ... at Netherdale, Galashiels 2008-09 ... Spartans v Edinburgh Uni ... at Meadowbank, Edinburgh 2009-10 ... Spartans v Gretna ... at Tynecastle, Edinburgh 2010-11 ... Spartans v Edinburgh City ... at Tynecastle, Edinburgh 2011-12 ... Stirling University v Duns ... at Netherdale, Galashiels 2012-13 ... Whitehill v Dalbeattie ... at Galabank, Annan 2013-14 ... East Kilbride v Dalbeattie ... at Palmerston, Dumfries 2014-15 ... BSCG v Civil Service ... at Ferguson Park, Rosewell 2015-16 ... Whitehill v Edinburgh City ... at New East Peffermill, Edinburgh It's predecessor tournament the Scottish Qualifying Cup South was always played at Scottish League grounds. This will be the first occasion that 2 teams from Strathclyde will contest the showpiece, and Cumbernauld's first senior final.

newcastle broon
In the seasons finale today the score was EK 4-2 Cumbernauld Colts.
HibeeJibee
Excellent game with a number of good goals in front of a crowd of over 400. Seemed to be cameras there - EK TV I'm assuming - so not much point describing the action or scores in any detail, but EK were the better team. That said - having got back to 2-1, if Cumbernauld hadn't conceded right on HT who knows. Highly successful season for EK all told - LL champions, lost promotion playoff final to Cowdenbeath, won South Challenge Cup, reached EOS Qualifying Cup SFs. Lots to celebrate. Doesn't half have a love in with that paper though. He was there in the dig out Newky but from that it would appear he just didn't travel on the team coach. Good final as others have said EK deserved winners but Colts rallied at the end and nearly made it 4-3. Well done East Kilbride on a very good season. Same man then led BSC in 2015 only to go in August. Whitehill lifted it last season - manager went in November. Now this... How long did Lawson last at Whitehill after 2013? EK's previous manager to Lauchlan also left right after winning the EOS Qualifying Cup last season. Even more oddly hardly any were sackings. King left BSC due to his role at Airdrie; Hislop resigned from Whitehill; Ogillvie left EK last season due to work; now Lauchlan uncertainty.
