Further to this, we can confirm that Paul Hewitt has decided to give up football altogether. We respect his decision and wish him all the best.

Shortage of players yesterday made it difficult however I'm sure things were learned and we will be back to a fuller squad for the start of the league campaign.

Hopefully a few more additions to the squad in the near future.

Lanark have added David Bannerman and James Faughan to their squad for the forthcoming season. Both players have signed on loan from Wishaw and will go straight into the squad for Saturday's match versus Newmains.

David is a wide midfielder and James a striker.

Welcome to the club guys and all the best for the season ahead.

Big Saaf always gives his all. He has just needed that wee bit of luck. Hope he does well.

Tried hard today but looks like he needs a few games to get into the swing. Came off with a groin strain after about 70 minutes.

What about the Lanark Gaffer's position ??

Poor start to season and squad lacks the quality needed to go up

McCrum will be a loss and would take him at the Gow in a heartbea

Very diffucult for Brogan, you need to make allowances for him , you can't account for his star players lack of commitment?

Hope he comes through this sticky start, he has two weeks to settle the squad down before their next game and I'm sure Lanark will move forward.

Lanark are delighted to announce the signing of GK Gareth Halford from Newmains.

Gareth has been outstanding every time we've played against him and we are confident he will be a big player for us moving forward.

Welcome to the club Gareth.

Welcome to the club Gareth.

Excellent news.  He was indeed superb against us earlier in the season and I recall he was excellent against us last season.

No Ronan Kearney last Saturday after coming off the bench the previous week. Anything sinister about his absence?  He'd have been a big threat in that match on that surface last weekend.

Ronan is currently on a family holiday and will miss this Saturday also before returning to training on Monday.
