Pretty sure the Top five Scottish transfers now sits like...

  1. Oliver Burke - Nottingham Forest to RB Leipzig - £13m
  2. Ross McCormack - Fulham to Aston Villa - £12m
  3. Matt Ritchie - Bournemouth to Newcastle - £12m
  4. Steven Fletcher - Wolves to Sunderland - £12m
  5. Ross McCormack - Leeds to Fulham - £11m

Out of those 5,  I would say Ritchie and burke are the only 1s where it's well spent.  Ross is a good player but way over priced

4 of them all within the last few months.

Rhodes was reported as initial £9 million but with add ons. These things are never disclosed but it could be that he's in the same region as them if their stated price is the maximum potential fee.

A "most expensive" current Scotland XI makes "interesting" reading..

Gordon (£9m)

Hutton (£9m) - Hanley (£5.5m) - Cooper (£750k) - Robertson (£3m)

Oliver Burke (£13m) - James McArthur (£7m) - Barry Bannan (£2m) - Matt Ritchie (£12m)

Steven Fletcher (£12m) - Ross McCormack (£12m)

Total: £82.25m

Not utterly convinced thats even the most expensive players you could fit in either.

Hadn't even heard of him until his call up a few days ago, suddenly he's Scotlands most expensive player. RB Leipzig are hated over there but if we have a 19 year old playing regularly in the Bundesliga then it's fantastic move for him and the Scotland squad.

Yep, the Gretna comparison is unfair based on what Nightmare says above.  They were a pub team playing in a village who had to play their top flight home games 70 miles away.  An unsustainable joke of a club.

An interesting move for the boy.  German teams seem to give young talent game time if they're good enough, so I expect him to play some part for them this season.

I don't get the 'disgusting club' posts. Are RB not just doing what Chelsea, Man City etc have done in recent times?

Have Red Bull Leipzig just been promoted to the Bundesliga, or are they second division there?

They're in the Bundesliga as of this season. A lot of away fans are looking to boycott games when their teams play there because of the way Leipzig have been run, it's against the ethos of the set up in Germany.

They got a 2-2 draw at Hoffenheim on the opening weekend earlier today, good match

Sort of.  Except Chelsea and to a lesser extent City, were established top flight sides.  These lads were only created in 2009 and started at the bottom of the German pyramid. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it if It's sustainable IMO, which give their stadium and attendances, I'd say RB are.

They better do

They do.

RB Leipzig have spent the 5th most money in the Bundesliga this season behind Bayern, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Wolfsburg. They mean business.
