Some SNP MSPs opposing a second EU referendum on the basis that it will impact on a future successful Independence referendum.

Short sighted and stupid.  These folk are seriously unfit to be involved in political discourse.

I wouldn’t oppose it but I would remain neutral unless Scotland’s voice was to be respected in it. If it’s to be another case of the UK treating its nations as one, with no recognition of the needs or wants of its constituent countries (which in reality means England, where the population is largest, decides) then I see no point in supporting it or rejecting it, or lending it legitimacy at all.

But the question of when and how it might impact a successful second independence referendum doesn’t deserve house room.

Not going to happen.  When we get our Independence I don’t want to inherit a country fucked over by a Tory Brexit.

Just accept the hard screxit then as Scotland won't be part of the EU if it gets independence.

Why not?

Will we also be invaded by Russia if we get independence?

Pish.

Batshit mental britnattery.

Scotland tied with the lemming like population of the UK

= EU exit.

Scotland as an independent country

= rejoining the EU. (If that is the will of the Scottish people)

There are literally no credibe opinions within European politics who have disputed this.

Really is a minter how the British press are trying to push Macrons comment about nationalism as a dig at Trump, really.. here's me thinking it's actually more about the ugly face of gammon British 'rule Britannia' brexit separation

It’s about Trump.  The fact that you don’t get that the does not surprise me.

It's about Brexit, Hungary, Poland, Austria, and the right in France and Germany etc. as well as Trump.

But presumably it would become legitimate if it endorsed a reversal of 2016 result?

It would be helpful if Momentum, who have done so much to get Corbyn elected as Labour Party leader and kept him there, now start applying pressure on him.

Momentum’s position, and the last Labour conference position, is that all options are open including a second referendum.
