Sloop John B
Firstly congratulations to Lionel Ainsworth for winning the inaugural P&B goal of the month, shocking the world by beating Leigh Griffths with this sexy lob on the opening day putting him on the shortlist for the Goal of the Season https://streamable.com/3wx0 However it's another month and another Souleymane Couilbaly screamer which is the bookies favourite with this absolute peach of an overhead kick, asserting himself as the most electrifying man in Scottish Football today https://streamable.com/kx85 But there is actual competition this week from Iain Vigurs with a sweet strike into the top corner of the bar showing that you don't need to zing it to score a nice goal. https://streamable.com/axq2 Niall McGinn scored the opener that game with his second nominated goal of the season so far curling it into the bottom corner from the edge of the box https://streamable.com/1nqj Shite camera work doesn't stop Steven MacLean from delivering a beautiful turn and shoot from outside the area, that pass from the Thistle player though... https://streamable.com/ig6b and Finally Sam Nicholson keeps the Gorgie Juggernaut's strong start in scoring good goals up with a great control, dummy and laces shot into the top corner. Proving that there is a challenger to Celtic in this competition https://streamable.com/ja19 Nominations by Club for the season (Weekly Wins in Brackets, Month wins in bold) Celtic - 4 (1 Weekly win) Hearts - 4 St Johnstone - 3 Hamilton Accies - 2 (1 Weekly Win) Kilmarnock - 2 (1 Weekly Win) Partick Thistle 2 Rangers - 2 Aberdeen - 2 Inverness - 2 Motherwell - 1 (1 Monthly Win) Ross County - 1 Dundee - 0 Individual nominations Nominations by player Souleymane Coulibaly (Kilmarnock): 2 (1 Win) Chris Erskine (Partick Thistle): 2 James Forrest (Celtic) : 2 Sam Nicholson (Hearts) : 2 Niall McGinn (Aberdeen): 2 Lionel Ainsworth (Motherwell) : 1 (1 win)( August Winner) Darren Lyon (Hamilton Accies): 1 (1 win) Leigh Griffiths (Celtic): 1 (1 Win) Don Cowie (Hearts): 1 Martyn Waghorn (Rangers): 1 Liam Boyce (Ross County): 1 Ali Crawford (Hamilton Accies) : 1 Danny Swanson (St Johnstone): 1 Ross Draper (Inverness): 1 Tony Watt (Hearts): 1 Richard Foster (St Johnstone): 1 Tom Rogic (Celtic): 1 James Tavernier (Rangers): 1 Iain Vigurs (Inverness): 1 Steven MacLean (St Johnstone): 1 A'body Else: 0 August Goals http://www.pieandbovril.com/forum/index.php?/topic/234356-pb-goal-of-the-month/
capt_oats
I'd actually have had Armstrong's goal for Celtic as my goal of the week tbh. Worked from Celtic's left back position, over to right back, through the midfield. I think from start to finish the move was something like 14 passes all over the park without a Rangers player getting a touch. As it is though, of those listed Vigurs gets my vote. RiG
Went for Vigurs because 1) it was pretty much the only good thing he did in the game; 2) it went in off the bar which always adds to the goal; and 3) I don't know when I might get a chance to vote for an ICT goal again in this. Liking these threads by the way.

That being said so far being good has little to do with scoring quality goals, County and Dundee are top half but their goals have zero #aesthetics. Which is deserving of a points deduction IMO. Daydream
Coulilaby - because I was there, and it was one of those strange moments where you half-heartedly clap when the opposition score.

We're making up for not scoring any screamers by letting the opposition do so.
The Saintee
Not a fan of that overhead kick tbh. He hits it right into the ground and it's the bounce that beats Bain. MacLean for me. Lovely technique all round.

There aren't many but when Dundee concede at least it's spectacular with 1 weekly winner and Coulibaly will make it two. Greg Stewart and Gary Harkins are big misses for quality goals In terms of screamers conceded the standings go with their 'goal difference' in brackets Inverness: 5 (Scored 2, -3) Aberdeen: 3 ( Scored 2, -1) Hamilton: 3 (Scored 2, -1) Kilmarnock: 2 (Scored 2, 0) Partick Thistle: 2 (Scored 2, 0) Dundee: 2 ( Scored 0, -2) Hearts: 1 (Scored 4, +3) Rangers: 1 (Scored 2, +1) Motherwell: 1 ( Scored 1, 0) Ross County: 1 ( Scored 1, 0) St Johnstone: 1 (Scored 3, +2) Celtic: 0 (Scored 4, +4) As you can see going to Inverness games as a neutral almost guarantees you with 1.4 good goals a game thus making them a must watch team. Alledged 'Meh' teams like St Johnstone and Killie are packing in the excitement whilst Ross County, Motherwell and Rangers are all officially boring (outside of that one goal Ainsworth scored). well fan for life
Went for Vigurs because he done another Iain Vigurs thing where he wanders around looking lazy before scoring an absolutely world class goal.
