DA Baracus
I genuinely am unable to comprehend the level of stupidity of people who believed his whole 'draining the swamp' bollocks. Or indeed of anyone who would even consider voting for him.
williemillersmoustache
Donald J. TrumpVerified account @realDonaldTrump Texas is heeling fast thanks to all of the great men & women who have been working so hard. But still, so much to do. Will be back tomorrow! He's a thick illiterate c**t, what an absolute beamer having him as the president.

Well no, that's not true - 52% of folk who were able to vote (i.e. over 18 and not foreign) and who could be bothered to vote voted Brexit. I think that's about 26% of the population.

While I agree there'll be no shortage of thick people within most people's reach, for brexit it's fair to say many folk really didn't understand what they were voting for. With trump, he admitted to sexually assaulting women, abusing his power over women for sexual gratification and mocked a disabled man on live TV. Among many, many other dreadful things. I can excuse voting for brexit because you were confused/sold an absolute pup. I can't excuse folk willingly and knowingly voting for a c**t.
Ira Gaines
Aye, I think Brexit in a lot of cases was down to understandable ignorance. I don't think you can say that about the Trump situation. He was always a thick as f**k bigot.
welshbairn
Trump was anger at the status quo of dynastic American politics, seasoned with an unhealthy dose of racism. Bad enough having the Clinton and Bush family running the country, but a fucking n****r? 2008 and frozen wages tipped them over the edge to vote for anyone who was white and not a Washington insider. Even a pig faced psychotically narcissistic bullying toddler. Edited September 1, 2017 by welshbairn
Granny Danger
I wonder if the tax thing will be issue that sees some of Trump's blue collar supporters deserting him. They were too stupid to predict the likely outcome but hopefully they will find it hard to ignore the reality once it happens.

Granny Danger
I'm not sure if it's because of the hurricane, but Trump appears to have stopped posting controversial stuff on Twitter. The result being he is taking far less flack. An intelligent person would learn from this, an egotistical crackpot can't. I wonder if it will continue.

None of the stuff that working class Republicans use, outside of Medicaid for childbirth in many cases, gets paid for out of general income tax revenue. Maybe free school lunch as well, but I'm not sure about that. Social Security and Medicare are separate items that come out of your paycheck each week. Unemployment is paid by employers based on how often they lay people off. Schools are mostly funded through local property taxes. Roads are heavily funded based on gas and local taxes. Federal taxes do help pay for both of those things, but it's not the primary connection that most people make. The working class in America doesn't generally care that much in disputes between the underclass and the rich. In fact, they often dislike the underclass more because that's who they have to deal with more. And plenty would buy into the argument that tax cuts on the rich would increase economic growth, which might increase working class job prospects. They'd gladly trade that for less help to people who don't work. Now, if you proposed a specific tax that hit the rich that would pay for something specific that working class people would use, they would support that. But many don't see as much of a connection between general tax revenue and lots of things that benefit them personally.

To do with being black AND being perceived to side against "white interests" each time in most decisions where there is a difference in white and minority opinion WHILE ALSO presiding of what was viewed as worsened race relations. For instance, if he came out against Blacks Lives Matter looting and the increased crime that accompanied his Presidency he would have been fine with white people. His policies, not his race was the factor. If he hadn't tried to carve out a new Middle Eastern racial classification out of "White" on the census so that more people would have access to positive discrimination over whites in federal contracts, he would have been fine with white people. Now, obviously the larger race issue was lurking behind why there's a large gulf in white and black opinion on many topics.

Of course, though judging by his vote totals it was a minority. Looks like he lost the white vote by around 20% in 2012 and would have been significantly worse that than if he'd been allowed to run again. I was referring to Welshy's point about people being mad about a black President. Almost nobody was mad about that, and I would know. It's not like people have to censor themselves around me. Did we ever approve your move to America?

Just remember, even in those "socialist" states if you're talking to a white man your much more likely to be talking to someone who thinks closer to my views than yours.

My point has long been that there is that socialism in the US is utterly negligible, despite what the right wing dafties might continually bleat about. Trump and his good ol' boys = far right Hillary's mob = right Bernie's lads = centrist The alt-right basement dwellers raging at life because girls won't kiss them would suffer explosive multiple organ failure if anyone of note in the States actually espoused some real socialist policies. Spoiler Besides, I'm only going for the Taco Bell. Vive la Mexico.
